EXCLUSIVE: What started as a short open letter about working conditions in the UK unscripted sector has turned into a full-on campaign with backing from more than 1,000 people and the nation’s largest broadcasting union. Off the back of the open letter signed by more than 1,000 TV industry workers in less than a week, Bectu has today launched a campaign to establish an agreed set of terms and better regulation of working practices for UK freelancers working across entertainment, docs and factual. The union’s desire is to bring UK unscripted TV working conditions more in line with scripted, which recently saw a new deal brokered between Bectu and indie trade body Pact – although this took almost a year of negotiations. Parineeti Chopra and Punjabi singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu starrer spy action drama film Code Name: Tiranga is all set to get dropped on a popular OTT platform for home viewing. Code Name: Tiranga was theatrically released on October 14, 2022. The film's worldwide streaming rights have been bought exclusively by Netflix. Written and directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Code Name Tiranga is Parineeti's second collaboration with Dasgupta after The Girl On The Train. The film has been jointly produced by T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, and Film Hangar. The film's synopsis reads, "A RAW agent is on a journey across many countries. As a spy, she is on an unfaltering and fearless mission for her nation in a race against time where sacrifice is her only choice."
