‘Ninja Warrior’ Obstacle Course Could Feature At 2028 Olympic Games In Los Angeles
Olympians could soon face the iconic Ninja Warrior obstacle course. Format owner Tokyo Broadcasting System Television (TBS) has revealed it is working with several partners to test whether it could be a fifth discipline of the Modern Pentathlon at the 2028 Olympic Games in LA. According to the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) — which is working with TBS, World Obstacle, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) on the proposal — two types of obstacle sports are being tested, with one being the ‘ninja competition’ popularized by the Ninja Warrior (Japanese title Sasuke ). In the U.S. American Ninja Warrior is currently in its 14th season, while ITV in the UK is gearing up for its first season in three years. ‘The Split’ Producer Sister Options Rights To Abi Morgan’s ‘This Is Not A Pity Memoir’; Morgan Attached To Direct
On the day season three of Abi Morgan ’s drama series The Split launches in the U.S. on BBC America, producer Sister has snapped up rights to the screenwriter’s autobiographical book This is Not a Pity Memoir . Morgan will not only adapt her memoir for TV, but will also direct and executive produce the project, along with Sister co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jane Featherstone. Sister and Morgan have already collaborated on three seasons of The Split , which was originally for the BBC, and this latest agreement strengthens their ties. Vic Mensa Pleads Guilty in Shrooms Case, Gets Probation
TMZ.com Vic Mensa 's pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance, but he won't do any time behind bars after striking a deal with prosecutors ... TMZ has learned. Kendra Glover , a rep for the Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney, tells TMZ ... Mensa pled guilty to one count of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor. We're told as part of the plea deal he got 12 months in jail, but that was suspended -- meaning instead of serving it behind bars, he'll have a year of unsupervised probation. Vic will also have to take a substance abuse assessment, perform 25 hours of community service, and pay a $1k fine. BTW, he'll get 50 percent off that fine if he successfully completes the other probation terms. ‘Ozark’ Actor McKinley Belcher III Joins Broadway’s ‘Death Of A Salesman’ Revival
EXCLUSIVE Ozark actor McKinley Belcher III will join the cast of Broadway ’s upcoming Death of a Salesman revival starring Wendell Pierce and Sharon D Clarke this fall, producers announced today. Belcher will play Happy Loman, son of Willy (Pierce) and Linda (Clarke) Loman. The revival begins previews September 19 at the Hudson Theatre for a strictly limited 17-week engagement. Supreme Court Grants Victory to Reintroduction of Prayer in Public Schools
The Supreme Court ruled in the case of Kennedy v. Bremerton that public school officials violated the First Amendment rights of high school coach Joseph Kennedy when they fired him in the wake of a controversy stemming from his ritual of praying at the 50-yard line during football games. The 6-3 opinion authored by conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch ruled that public school officials have a constitutional right to pray in schools, as well as to lead students in prayer during school events. The decision is a victory for religious and conservative groups looking to reintroduce prayer in public schools after the supreme court ruled it unconstitutional in 1962.
