At least 58 people were killed and 500 wounded when a shooter opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a country music festival outside Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Sunday night. Jason Aldean was performing onstage at the time of the shooting. The shooter killed himself, according to reports, bringing the body count to 59. “We’re investigating reports of an active shooter near/around Mandalay Bay Casino. Asking everyone to please avoid the area,” Las Vegas Police Department tweeted just before 10:40 p.m. PST. However, video from the festival shared on social media captured the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history moments after it happened: Numerous witnesses posted video showing Aldean performing onstage when the sound of gunfire from an automatic weapon erupted in the distance. After several seconds, the music and onstage video production abruptly stopped as Aldean and his band ran off stage. “We are completely devastated by the event that … [Read more...] about Las Vegas Shooting: At Least 59 Dead at Route 91 Music Festival

It looks like X-Force, Gambit, and Doctor Doom are all shelved. Many were wondering how Disney's acquisition of Fox would affect any of the current Marvel projects that are in development, and with the deal reportedly set to finalized in March, we may have lost three movies. It appears that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios may have other plans of introducing the Fox Marvel properties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which could be a good thing in the long run. Feige and the studio have an excellent track record of bringing Marvel Comics to the big screen. Out of the three movies, it appears that Gambit and Doctor Doom are completely toast. Both projects have been in development for quite some time without any forward momentum. Gambit came close to starting production with Channing Tatum in the starring role. Since talks of the acquisition started happening, many believed there was a real possibility these movies would be shelved, so this shouldn't come as too big of a surprise to … [Read more...] about X-Force, Gambit & Doctor Doom Movies All Dead at Fox?
UPDATE: George Strait has released a statement regarding the death of his longtime drummer Mike Kennedy, who was killed in a car accident on Friday. “Hard to put into words how much Mike’s passing has affected us all. Our hearts are broken. It’s going to be very strange not being able to look over and see him there in his spot on stage and very emotional as well I’m sure for all of us and also his fans,” said Strait. “The band will never be the same. A part of us is gone forever. We all loved Mike and will miss him terribly. He was just as solid a friend to us all as he was a drummer, and that was damn solid. Our hearts and prayers are with his family. The Lord has him now. Rest In Peace my friend.” George Strait‘s longtime drummer Mike Kennedy was killed Friday in a three-car crash on a highway outside of Lebanon, Tennessee. He was 59. Recent chatter suggests AMC may move forward on a Walking Dead spin-off that is a full-on comedy. Though without losing any of the dread or scares that come with the zombies. I'd have to imagine that Zombieland Double Tap is what it would eventually look like. Consider, Amazon already tried turning the original Zombieland movie into a sitcom. It didn't pan out. But these characters are certainly welcome on the big screen every decade or so. It's fun to be back in the good graces of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock for a second go around. And watching their antics in 4DX makes the ride that much sweeter. A first, for me at least, is that there is snow. The movie opens with an icy white landscape, as Jesse Eisenberg's Columbus talks about his makeshift family's winter escapades in the apocalypse. During which, snow actually fell from the theater ceiling. A white drift that gently glided in front of the screen, setting up a truly immersive experience that is slightly more … [Read more...] about Zombieland: Double Tap 4DX Review: Big Fun on the Great Zombie Coaster
