Nick Cave has joined the cast of Dream , a virtual, interactive theater production based on William Shakespeare ’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream . Cave will provide the voice of the forest in the play — appropriately named The Voice of the Forest — described as “a strange and mystical character who accompanies the audience as they explore the rivers, flowers, and trees of a virtual midsummer forest.” Dream is a collaboration between the Royal Shakespeare Company, Manchester International Festival, Marshmallow Laser Feast, and Philharmonia Orchestra, and was recorded during Covid-19 lockdown. (It was originally scheduled to open in the spring of 2020.) Nickelodeon has unveiled its 2019 content slate, highlighted by SpongeBob SquarePant s spinoffs and an hour-long special, a revival of sketch comedy show All That with Kenan Thompson as executive producer, a reimagined version of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? hosted by John Cena, and a scripted music series set in a boarding/performing arts high school from Simon Fuller and Ryan Tedder. The slate, announced today by Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins, was put into development in October at the beginning of Robbins’ tenure and will begin to roll out on Nick’s platforms this summer. Nick will commemorate the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants with Best Year Ever, a tribute that includes an original one-hour special, SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout, premiering Friday, July 12. EXCLUSIVE : Magic Mike and I Am Number Four star Alex Pettyfer is attached to star in The Chelsea Cowboy , based on the colorful life of Brit actor, tough guy and lothario, John Bindon. The project will chart the rise and fall of underworld hard-man turned actor Bindon, who despite a successful acting career and passionate romantic liaisons with various socialites, was unable to leave his criminal past behind. Ben Cookson ( Waiting For Anya ) is directing. World sales are being handled by Moviehouse Entertainment which is introducing the title to buyers at this week’s virtual European Film Market. Bindon was frequently in trouble as a youth for getting into fights and spent time in borstal.
