After presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway made headlines for her face-off this morning with CNN host Dana Bash, anchor Fredricka Whitfield hosted a panel on the clash during which political analyst Ryan Lizza called Conway’s earlier comments “threatening.” It all started when Bash asked Conway about her husband’s now deleted tweets criticizing President Donald Trump, suggesting a conflict was at play since Conway works for Trump. In response, Conway claimed the question was asked on the basis of gender rather than her political career, calling it “fascinating to me that CNN would go there” and that “it’s very good for the whole world to just witness that it’s now fair game how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them.” Lizza interpreted that response as a challenge. “To me it almost sounded like a threat,” he said. “‘Well, you’re talking … [Read more...] about CNN Panel Addresses Kellyanne Conway’s Clash With Dana Bash: Sounded Like She Made a ‘Threat’

Kellyanne Conway defended her husband's sometimes critical tweets about her boss, then lambasted a CNN anchor for bringing it up. Lawyer George Conway has recently made a handful of critical social media posts about President Trump, but the White House counselor argued he “writes a lot of things that are also supportive.” Conway, appearing Sunday on “State of the Union,” added he also posts “a lot of things about Corgis and Philadelphia Eagles.” Then, however, she took anchor Dana Bash’s question as a major slight that brought family members into politics. Conway suggests Comey ‘loved being alone in the Oval Office' “It’s fascinating to me that CNN would go there,” she said. “But it’s very good for the whole world to just witness that it’s now fair game how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them. Grilled this morning by CNN’s Dana Bash on why President Trump would mention his lawyer Michael Cohen “flipping” if there was nothing to hide, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said it was simply a defense of Cohen against unfair treatment. “He is defending someone who has worked with and known for a dozen plus years who he thinks is being treated unfairly,” Conway told Bash. “You’ve got Jim Comey, on the one hand, going out on a big book tour after saying ‘I don’t leak, I’m not sneaky, I don’t make any weasel moves,’ and doing all of the above again and again, including in his memos,” she said. “Also, the methods really have disturbed the president. He said in the cabinet room when he first got word of the FBI raid almost two weeks ago tomorrow, that he felt the methods were a, ‘disgrace,’ and that should concern everyone.” Conway dodged Bash’s questions on … [Read more...] about CNN’s Dana Bash Grills Kellyanne Conway on Trump Saying Cohen Won’t Flip: What Is He Worried About?
