Fennell won a Best Original Screenplay Academy Award for 2020’s Promising Young Woman , her debut feature as writer and director. She also was nominated for Best Director and Best Picture. Little is known about the new movie, but sources tell Deadline that Saltburn is the title and that it’s about a grand, aristocratic English family. Brat Expands Slate With New Original Series, Renewals For Winter Launch
Brat , the Gen Z-focused digital studio and network, said Friday it has renewed and set release dates for five original series and ordered two new series, one featuring Anna Cathcart from To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before and Odd Squad and another starring up-and-coming pro boxer Ryan “Kingry” Garcia. The Brat network has more than 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube, with 15 million unique viewers, says the company, which focuses on using social media stars to build teen-based programming for platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Nearly 3 billion minutes of content were consumed in the past year, Brat says. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rachel Loshak, and their children, Harvey and Ridley. Taylor was best known for his creation of the World of Gustafer Yellowgold, an animated character said to be from the sun. The journalist who crashed a Russian state-run news broadcast to protest the invasion of Ukraine says she was interrogated for 14 hours and denied access to her lawyer and was not able to contact her family. Marina Ovsyannikova made the remarks at a brief news conference on Tuesday following an appearance in court. Salman Rushdie On “Road To Recovery,” His Agent Says
Author Salman Rushdie has been removed from his ventilator and is starting the long road back from his stabbing injuries. “The road to recovery has begun,” Andrew Wylie said in a text message to the New York Times. “It will be long; the injuries are severe, but his condition is headed in the right direction.” Rushdie suffered a damaged liver and is in danger of losing an eye from the stabbing attack last week. An Iranian sympathizer is in police custody and has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges for attacking Rushdie. Hadi Matar, age 24, staged his attack at the Chautauqua Institution, a nonprofit education and retreat center. He is being held without bail. Rushdie has been under a death sentence since 1989 for his novel, The Satanic Verses.
