By Martha Ross | [email protected] | Bay Area News Group PUBLISHED: December 4, 2018 at 8:49 am | UPDATED: December 4, 2018 at 8:51 am The long-running feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga is heating up again, with it easy to imagine that Madonna is a tad annoyed that the younger pop diva is getting Oscar buzz and the kind of acclaim for her film work that long eluded the Material Girl. Madonna showed some frustration with Gaga’s constant “A Star is Born” press coverage by calling her out for repeating a certain statement in interviews, Page Six reported. Madonna claims she originated the statement. A video montage has been circulating online that shows Lady Gaga, 32, repeating this phrase, or a variation thereof: “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don’t believe in you, but all it takes is one and it just changes your whole life.” It turns out that Madonna, 60, said something pretty similar back in the 1980s. … [Read more...] about Madonna vs. Lady Gaga: Feud reignites as Gaga gets serious Oscar buzz for ‘A Star is Born’
"A Star Is Born" has dominated the pop culture zeitgeist this fall, and one particular song from the box-office smash's No. 1 soundtrack has emerged as a sleeper hit: "Why Did You Do That?"The song, which Lady Gaga's Ally performs on "Saturday Night Live" in the film, is positioned to be a soulless pop banger against the more "serious" rock-tinged songs that Ally sings with Bradley Cooper's Jackson Maine earlier on, but pop-loving fans have reclaimed the earworm-worthy jam in the weeks since "A Star Is Born" hit theaters.Whether it's the repetitive chorus or the memorable choreography Gaga performs as Ally during the "SNL" performance or its opening lyrics that have dubbed it "that song about butts" ("Why do you look so good in those jeans?/Why'd you come around me with an ass like that?"), "Why Did You Do That?" is anything but forgettable.AOL's Gibson Johns recently caught up with Lady Gaga's longtime choreographer, who choreographed all of the dance sequences in "A Star Is Born," … [Read more...] about How Lady Gaga’s ‘Why Did You Do That?’ scene in ‘A Star Is Born’ came to be
Lady Gaga wore pants to Elle magazine's 25th annual Women in Hollywood celebration at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. To be specific, the 32-year-old actually wore an oversized beige Marc Jacobs suit and on a typical weekday, the outfit alone would've been enough to make headlines. Not Monday night. The singer-turned-actress, generating awards buzz for her breakout turn opposite Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born, made her way to the podium as one of the night's honorees and delivered the longest (25 minutes) and most emotional acceptance speech, touching on everything from being a sexual assault survivor and chronic pain sufferer to a mental illness advocate and newly-engaged fiancé. But about those pants. Fashion was the first subject to roll out in her remarks — after introductory words from friend Jennifer Lopez whom Gaga gripped tightly during a standing ovation as tears streamed down her face — and there was a point to be made from her ensemble choice for the … [Read more...] about Lady Gaga Moved to Tears During Emotional Speech on Sexual Assault, Mental Illness
AMY Winehouse’s life story sounds just like a Hollywood movie — the tale of a woman who went from humble beginnings to a stellar singing career and then died at the tragically young age of 27. So it’s no surprise that the tale of the five-Grammy-winning artist is finally going to be filmed. Her family has signed a multi-million-pound deal to make a biopic, which will be directed by veteran producer Alison Owen.
