Jeremy Renner will be making his first public appearance since he was severely injured in a New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner is slated to attend the Los Angeles premiere of his Disney+ series Rennervations on April 11 for a screening and live Q&A portion, according to the streamer. Renner suffered an accident in January while plowing snow in the driveway of his Lake Tahoe home. He was trying to stop the snow-removal tractor from sliding and hitting his nephew when he was pulled under the vehicle and crushed. He was airlifted to a hospital, where he was treated for “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.” First reports had Renner in “critical condition,” but after surgery, he reappeared on social media thanking everyone for their thoughts during this difficult process. ABC Renewal Status Report: ‘Station 19’, ‘The Good Doctor’, ‘The Rookie’, ‘The Conners’, ‘Big Sky’ & More
Fourth in a series on status of broadcast network series renewals. Amid Disney companywide cutbacks, which include the elimination of 7,000 jobs , ABC is taking a measured approach to its scripted series renewals. Only one show, award-winning sophomore comedy Abbott Elementary, received a very early Season 3 pickup in January. It was joined on Friday by drama stalwart Grey’s Anatomy, which was renewed for Season 20. That leaves the majority of the network’s scripted roster in a holding pattern — all except the two already renewed as well as The Goldbergs and A Million Little Things , which are ending their runs this spring. With four drama pilots (including The Good Doctor planted spinoff) and two comedy pilots — the most for a broadcast network this season and all headlined by big-name stars — ABC is expected to take longer than usual on most renewals. ‘The Secrets Of Hillsong’ Docuseries Based On Vanity Fair’s Megachurch Exposé Set At FX For Spring Premiere
FX has ordered The Secrets of Hillsong , an investigative docuseries based on Vanity Fair ‘s exposé of the controversial megachurch, which counted celebritries such as Justin Bieber, Kevin Durant, and Selena Gomez among its worshippers. The four-episode docuseries, which Deadline exclusively reported had been in development since 2021, hails from Oscar and Emmy-winning Queer Eye producer Scout Productions and Vanity Fair Studios. It’s set to premiere Friday, May 19 at 10 PM with the first two episodes. The final two episodes will air May 26. All episodes will stream the next day on Hulu. The series will be available on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories. EXCLUSIVE: Kerry Washington ‘s comedy series UnPrisoned seems to be resonating with viewers in the U.S. The series, which debuted on March 10, has now become Onyx Collective ’s most-watched Hulu premiere to date. It is also the most-watched Hulu Original scripted series so far in 2023, in terms of hours watched, according to Onyx. As is typical among the streamers, Hulu did not offer up specific viewing metrics for the series. UnPrisoned is Onyx Collective’s inaugural comedy series. ‘The X-Files’ Creator Says Ryan Coogler Is Developing Diverse Reboot
There’s a new version of The X-Files on the horizon from Ryan Coogler , according to series X-Files Chris Carter. “I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. So, he’s got his work cut out for him because we covered so much territory,” Carter revealed Monday on the CBC podcast On t he Coast with Gloria Macarenko . 20th Television declined to comment. Deadline has reached out Coogler’s reps. Coogler’s production banner Proximity Media is under a five-year exclusive deal with Disney Television, which Deadline reported exclusively in 2021. The X-Files premiered in 1993 with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson starring as FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully, respectively.
