Iggy Pop has dropped a new video for his interpretation of the Dylan Thomas poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” It’s featured on Pop’s 2019 album, Free . In the Simon Taylor-directed video, Pop delivers a dramatic reading of the classic poem, buoyed by guitarist Noveller and trumpeter Leron Thomas’ soundscape. Pop focuses a steadfast stare directly into the camera with the closeup shot style enhancing his deep timbre and expressiveness. In December, Pop released “ Dirty Little Virus ,” a song about Covid-19. He also recorded a French-language version of Elvis Costello’s “No Flag” from Costello’s recent album, Hey Clockface . Hank Azaria says he will no longer be voicing the controversial character Apu on The Simpsons . Azaria made the comment in an interview with Slashfilm at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour following a panel for his IFC show Brockmire. “All we know there is I won’t be doing the voice anymore, unless there’s some way to transition it or something,” Azaria told the publication. “We all made the decision together… We all agreed on it. We all feel like it’s the right thing and good about it.” The show’s producer 20th Century Fox TV would not comment on Azaria’s remarks when reached by Deadline. Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, a recurring character in the hit animated series, is an Indian immigrant proprietor who runs the Kwik-E-Mart, a popular convenience store in Springfield. The character has been controversial with accusations that the portrayal is a racist caricature. Kristen Bell will no longer voice Molly, a mixed-race character on Apple TV +’s animated musical comedy series Central Park . Bell, who called playing Molly “act of complicity” that “shows a lack of awareness of my pervasive privilege,” will remain on the 20th Century Fox TV-produced show, playing a new character. Netflix’s animated comedy Big Mouth made a similar change today , with Jenny Slate exiting the cast where she voices Missy, a biracial girl. The role will be recast with a Black actor. Both decisions had been in the works for a while. Central Park , which has a two-season order at Apple TV+, hails from Bob’s Burgers creator/EP Loren Bouchard, who co-created it with Bob’s Burger s executive producer Nora Smith and Josh Gad.
