Gorillaz have announced a North American tour — their first since 2018 — which will kick off this fall. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Damon Albarn and Company’s 22-date trek launches in Vancouver at Rogers Arena and culminates at FTXArena in Miami on Oct. 23. The virtual act will include the 14-piece Gorillaz live band along with currently unannounced guest performers. EarthGang is set to open the tour through Oct. 19, with Jungle taking the opening slot Oct. 21 and 23. Last year, the group dropped a massive 20th anniversary box set of their self-titled debut. It followed 2020’s Song Machine: Season One — Strange Timez , comprising star-studded singles from their Song Machine series. Seventeen are hitting the road this summer in support of their fourth studio album, Face the Sun , which arrives on May 27. Their “[Be the Sun]” tour will go on sale June 3 at 3 p.m. local time, with Verified Fan presale tickets available beginning June 1. The group — S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon, Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi, Jun, The8, and Dino — kick off their shows with two dates in Seoul, South Korea at Gocheok Sky Dome June 25-26 before they embark on their North American tour in August. Emo favorites Sunny Day Real Estate will embark on their first tour in 12 years. The reunited band —  vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Enigk, guitarist Dan Hoerner and drummer William Goldsmith — will tour with unnamed musicians in lieu of original bassist Nate Mendel, the Foo Fighters member who is not slated to join the reunion. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. local time. The 25-date trek kicks off in Lawrence, Kansas on Sept. 13 at Liberty Hall and runs through December, with dates in major cities through the Midwest, East Coast and southern states before it concludes on the West Coast in their hometown of Seattle at the Moore Theatre on Dec.18. When original Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers drummer Stan Lynch was let go from the group in 1995 — or “excommunicated,” to use his own term —he started a new chapter of his life in Florida as a producer-songwriter and rarely looked back. His only encounter with Petty in the years that followed took place in 2002 at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and the only communication he can recall from guitarist Mike Campbell in the two decades since that night was a brief phone call in 2017 shortly after Petty died. Carrie Underwood ’s new album Denim & Rhinestones arrives in June, and she’ll have an extensive headlining tour to celebrate it throughout this fall and winter. The “ Denim & Rhinestones Tour ” officially gets underway Oct. 15 in Greenville, South Carolina. With 43 dates currently scheduled, the trek will take noted hard rock fan Underwood to arenas in virtually every corner of the United States: from Minneapolis to New Orleans, Miami Boston, and Los Angeles to Seattle. After a fall 2022 run through November, Underwood will pause during December and then crank back up in early 2023 with February and March dates. Stops along the way include Tulsa’s BOK Center in Underwood’s home state of Oklahoma, San Francisco’s Chase Center, and New York’s Madison Square Garden. Bruno Mars will take one last victory lap for his Grammy-sweeping 24K Magic when the singer hits the road for the “finale” leg of his 24K Magic World Tour, with Mars’ “Finesse (Remix)” partner Cardi B along as special guest. My Chemical Romance kicked off their tour last night at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, where the rock band offered the live debut of their new single, “The Foundations of Decay.” The group also performed “Surrender The Night” and “Boy Division,” from their 2013 B-side compilation Conventional Weapons , for the first time live. Seattle rock outfit Sunny Day Real Estate might be in a state of flux, but guitarist Dan Hoerner is still passionate about the Washington music scene. In an effort to save legendary Spokane venue The Big Dipper, Hoerner has started an IndieGoGo campaign with a target of $50,000. The new season, premiering June 22 on the streaming service, finds the Umbrella Academy facing off against the mysterious Sparrow Academy via a paradox that loops together multiple timelines.
