Volodymyr Zelensky, In Historic Speech To Congress, Says Ukraine Will “Never Surrender” To Russia
UPDATE: President Volodymyr Zelensky was greeted by rousing ovations by a joint session of Congress as he told lawmakers that Ukraine would “never surrender” in its war against Russia. In his speech, running about 20 minutes and delivered in English, Zelensky compared his country’s winter fight to that of American soldiers fighting Nazis in the Battle of the Bulge, which also took place in a cold December. “Ukraine holds its line and will never surrender,” he said. We must do it,” he said. The speech reflected the former comedian’s gifts at communication, with memorable lines and standout visual moments, as when he presented House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with a Ukrainian battle flag as a “symbol of our victory in this war.” … [Read more...] about Volodymyr Zelensky, In Historic Speech To Congress, Says Ukraine Will “Never Surrender” To Russia

Adam Schiff Enters Race For U.S. Senate
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has entered the race for U.S. Senate in what looks to be a hotly contested intra-party battle in California in anticipation that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) won’t run for another term. “Our democracy is at great risk. Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else,” Schiff said in a Twitter post. “And because our economy isn’t working for millions of hard working Americans.” Schiff joins Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) in the race, with Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) also planning to run. Feinstein has not said what her plans are, but there is expectation that she will not be in the race. When he’s tapped on the shoulder by Michael Longfellow , one of this season’s new cast members, a startled Jordan goes into Creed mode and reflexively delivers two punches to the new guy’s nose. “Jesus B. Christ!” shouts Longfellow. “I am so sorry,” says the apologetic Jordan. “It’s muscle memory.” Says Longfellow, “Even the second one?” “I can’t have a broken nose,” Longfellow says. “I was hired for my looks, not my talent.” Check out the video above. This weekend’s SNL, which also will feature musical guest Lil Baby, marks the second live broadcast of 2023 following last weekend’s … [Read more...] about ‘SNL’ Promo: Michael B.
