A court here in Maharashtra on Sunday remanded Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale in police custody till May 18 following her arrest for allegedly sharing an objectionable post on social media about NCP chief Sharad Pawar, an official said. All of a sudden, I became eligible for some of the benefits hitting that landmark birthday: medicare, discounts for things like mass transit, rent, the gym, medical cannabis, movie tickets and many others that I never thought of. As I continue to adapt to my new status, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to what 65-plus will look like and how it will affect me and my work ethic. The festival has not only been demanding copy approval as a condition for interviews with Frémaux (something no other festival or organization has asked of us), but after pledging not to make any changes to copy, it has been removing content including potentially uncomfortable answers from Frémaux relating to diversity and controversial filmmakers. Last month we were in Paris following the lineup announcement to interview Frémaux about the selection and the festival more generally for our Cannes Disruptors magazine.
