No Place For Harry And Meghan In Coronation Procession, Leaked Palace Plans Reveal
Leaked rehearsal plans for the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III reveal that there is currently no place for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle in the procession to follow the king’s crowning in Westminster Abbey. This revelation by The Times of London follows reports that Harry and Meghan have been invited to the ceremony taking place on May 6 in the UK capital. According to the plans, the King’s shamed brother, the Duke of York, has no place in the royal procession, and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will not be taking part either. ‘The Eternal Daughter’: BFI Distribution Acquires Tilda Swinton Ghost Tale For UK & Irish Release
BFI Distribution has picked up Tilda Swinton and Joanna Hogg ’s latest collaboration, The Eternal Daughter , for theatrical release in the UK and Ireland. The pic will hit cinemas this autumn and form the centerpiece of a Joanna Hogg retrospective season hosted at BFI Southbank that will also include a programme of films that have influenced her work. The Eternal Daughter is the BFI’s second acquisition from A24, following the Irish drama God’s Creatures, starring Paul Mescal and Emily Watson earlier this year. The film also marks Hogg and Swinton’s third collaboration following the acclaimed two-part Souvenir series, which starred Swinton’s daughter Honor Swinton Byrne. Written and directed by Hogg with Martin Scorsese once again on board as Executive Producer, the film follows an artist and her elderly mother who confront long-buried secrets when they return to a former family home, now a hotel haunted by its mysterious past. BBC Complained To Government About Chairman Appointment Process Ahead Of Richard Sharp Hire
EXCLUSIVE : The BBC raised concerns about the way the government was going about appointing its new Chairman before the controversial hire of Richard Sharp . Sir David Clementi, the BBC’s former Chairman, wrote to the government in October 2020 to complain about the recruitment process for his successor. The UK government is responsible for appointing the BBC’s Chairman, while ministers also play a role in hiring four other board members. The procedure has become increasingly divisive, with concerns about ministers installing political candidates, leaving the BBC open to the accusation that its non-executive directors are too close to the government. Clementi’s letter to Oliver Dowden, the former Culture Secretary, could fuel suspicions that the government played politics with the BBC’s board amid a wider agenda against the broadcaster. Heavy D died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis ... and a long flight back to L.A. from a Michael Jackson memorial concert may have been a contributing factor. A pulmonary embolism is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs -- most often caused by blood clots which travel in from other parts of he body. In Heavy's case, the clot was formed in his legs. Days before Heavy died, he was on a flight back from Europe, after performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales. Officials from the L.A. County Coroner's Office say Heavy also suffered from heart disease, which could have been a contributing factor in his death. The Coroner's Office has classified the death as "natural." As TMZ first reported, Heavy died on November 8, 2011. He was 44 years old.
