In FX’s breakout series The Bear , Jeremy Allen White plays Carmy Berzatto, a prodigious young chef who returns home to Chicago to assume control of his dead brother’s sandwich shop. It’s the role of a lifetime for White, who’s already enjoyed great success on the small screen — first as a soldier in Homecoming , and as the brainy Lip Gallagher on Shameless . Here, the Brooklyn native talks about the importance of keeping things real over a hot stove. DEADLINE: When you were first approached about the show, did creator Christopher Storer describe it as a workplace comedy? JEREMY ALLEN WHITE: No. Chris told me about Carmy and the idea of this young man coming home and trying to pick up the pieces of a life he’s been far away from for a long time. I read it and I thought it was really funny. But Chris’s focus, which became mine as well as Joanna Calo’s, was telling an authentic story about the food industry and the back of the house. DEADLINE: Carmy has … [Read more...] about ‘The Bear’ Star Jeremy Allen White On Working On The Line And Finding The Right Recipe For The Kitchen Industry

TMZ Akon is still backing Kanye West , even after the guy proclaimed his love for Hitler and Nazis -- going so far as to say, he isn't offended ... 'cause the remarks aren't aimed at him. The singer sat for an interview with Sky News this week ... during which he said he supports Ye's right to speak his mind and say whatever he wants to say, regardless of how much it might piss off society -- which is apparently how he's framed this saga in his mind. "I'm a backer of the right to believe what you want to believe" says Akon, speaking on Kanye West's anti-Semitic comments - adding that if he spoke with Kanye he'd "give him my point of view on why I disagree" because 'communication is key'. https://t.co/PAiZ4D1jU3 pic.twitter.com/wY6EKJUrNc — Sky News (@SkyNews) December 2, 2022 @SkyNews While Akon says he would make sure to give KW his own POV against Ye's argument about liking Hitler -- in a debate, it seems -- he still doesn't like the idea of … [Read more...] about Akon Defends Kanye West After Hitler Comments
The Saturday Night Live cold open used Herschel Walker’s own slip ups and bizarre words against him to skewer his Senate bid, as the Republican Senate candidate in Georgia faces off against Democrat Raphael Warnock. In real life, Walker’s post-Election Day runoff has been marked by his comments about vampires and werewolves, as well as a slip-up that was a bit Freudian given the allegations and revelations that have emerged since the football star entered the political arena. In the skit, Walker (Kenan Thompson) is visiting the office of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (James Austin Johnson), as he and other colleagues are anxious for any kind of win after Republican hopes of retaking the majority were dashed in the most recent midterms. But the seasoned politicians have to contend with a candidate, Walker, who seems to be testing how much voters will accept when it comes to lack of qualifications. In the skit, Walker first refers to McConnell as “Mitch McDonalds.” … [Read more...] about ‘Saturday Night Live’ Cold Open Stings Herschel Walker With His Own Words As He Faces Georgia Senate Runoff
