Authentic Brands Group has hired former WarnerMedia exec Jessica Holscott as Chief Financial Officer. She succeeds Kevin Clarke, founding partner and longtime company leader, who is becoming the company’s Executive Vice Chairman. Authentic has a portfolio of several dozen entertainment, media and lifestyle brands (among them Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali, plus apparel makers like Brooks Brothers and Reebok) generating $23 billion a year in retail sales in 150 countries. At WarnerMedia, Holscott was EVP and CFO of Studios and Networks. She previously held exec roles at HBO and GE Capital. EXCLUSIVE : The Gotham Film & Media Institute has unveiled the winners of its fourth annual Focus Features & JetBlue Student Short Film Showcase. The five filmmakers chosen are Saleem Gondal ( Post Term , Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema), Yingtong Li ( The Silent Whistle , Emerson College), Taylor Mannsman ( Obscura , University of Texas at Austin), Shannon M. Sutherland ( They Flew Like Blackbirds , Florida State University) and Cheryl Wong ( Stigma, Style , NYU). White House Says More Documents Marked As Classified Were Found At Joe Biden’s Home
A lawyer for President Joe Biden said that additional documents with classified markings were found at his Wilmington home, after previously saying that a single page was found in that room. Richard Sauber, a White House lawyer, said in a statement on Saturday that because he has a security clearance, he went to the Wilmington home on Thursday evening to secure a single document that was found a day earlier. “While I was transferring it to the DOJ official who accompanied me, five additional pages with classification markings were discovered among the material with it, for a total of six pages. The DOJ officials with me immediately took possession of them.” Biden’s team had previously acknowledged the discovery of documents with classified markings in the garage of the residence. Michael Porseryd Departs ‘A Man Called Otto’ Nordic Film Powerhouse SF Studios
Michael Porseryd is stepping down as the CEO of SF Studios , the Nordic production and distribution powerhouse behind the recent Tom Hanks-starring drama A Man Called Otto . The company said in a statement posted on its website on Thursday that the board of SF Studios and Michael Porseryd had jointly agreed that Porseryd would leave his position as CEO after six years. “To ensure a smooth transition”, it said, SF Studio’s board chairman Jan Bernhardsson will take over as acting CEO. Fox News said today that its besieged co-president Bill Shine is out, calling it a resignation. Shine becomes the latest to exit as the cable news network is battered by sexual harassment claims against bigwigs. He has been with the network since its inception and was seen as the right-hand-man of ousted Fox News chief Roger Ailes . “Sadly, Bill Shine resigned today,” 21st Century Fox chief Rupert Murdoch said in a memo informing staff who had been mostly clueless this latest exit was coming. “I know Bill was respected and liked by everybody at Fox News. Erin Calhoun , EVP, Communications, Showtime Networks & Paramount Television Studios, has been appointed to a new role as EVP, Communications, Paramount Streaming and Cross-Company Publicity. The promotion comes on the heels of Paramount Global’s announcement yesterday that Showtime is being integrated into Paramount+, with the linear cable network getting renamed as Paramount+ with Showtime. As part of the change, SVP Susan Lundgren is leaving after a decade. Lundgren came through CBS Interactive and later became SVP Communications for ViacomCBS Streaming.
