A lawyer representing nearly a dozen people is calling for a sexual abuse investigation against rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris. In a letter sent to state and federal authorities in Georgia and California, lawyer Tyrone A. Blackburn, who is representing the 11 “victimized” people, alleged “sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, terroristic threats and false imprisonment” against the rapper (birth name Clifford Harris) and his wife spanning from 2005 to 2018, the New York Times reports . Five of the victims cited in the letters claimed they were raped or sexually assaulted by the couple. One of the women, a military veteran, says she was drugged by the couple after meeting them at a club; she was later taken to their hotel room — experiencing the effects of the alleged drugging — where she claimed Tiny bathed her and T.I., and the three then engaged in sex, during which the woman vomited. Sacha Baron Cohen Thanks “All-White” HFPA, Torches Rudy Giuliani In ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm’ Best Comedy Golden Globe Speech
Sacha Baron Cohen came out hot at the start of his acceptance speech for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm ‘s win at the Golden Globes for Best Comedy or Musical. “Thank you to the all-white Hollywood Foreign Press,” he began, a shot at the group’s lack of any Black members, a fact that has been excoriated in the industry and beyond in recent days. He also saluted “co-star” Rudy Giuliani , without whom “this film could not have been possible.” The attorney for former president Donald Trump “came from nowhere and turned out to be a comedy genius.” (Giuliani famously put his hands in his pants in a hotel room during a scene with Maria Bakalova, who plays the 15-year-old daughter of Borat. He later said he was adjusting his microphone.) Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Open 2021 Golden Globes With Swipes At HFPA Lack Of Diversity
UPDATE, with video Tina Fey and Amy Poehler opened tonight’s Golden Globe Awards from opposite coasts, a Covid-era necessity that should probably earn the duo a battle pay bonus. T elling jokes to masked, scarcely populated live audiences, Fey and Poehler likely scored more sympathy than laughs. Fey, appearing from New York’s Rainbow Room in 30 Rock, and Poehler, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, entered the split-screen stage from either side, joining in the virtual middle and addressing the weird vibe almost immediately: As Fey reached toward Poehler, a disembodied arm appeared on Poehler’s half of the screen. “The technology is so great that you’ll never be able to tell the difference,” Poehler joked. With the Beverly Hills Hotel done up in the Rainbow Room’s iconic gold-and-black Art Deco style, she was less off the mark with that comment than some of the punchlines that came after. Not helping were the stilted – if, again, necessary – remote … [Read more...] about Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Open 2021 Golden Globes With Swipes At HFPA Lack Of Diversity
Woodstock: ‘It Was Like Balling for the First Time’
WOODSTOCK , N.Y. — Chicago was only the labor pains. With a joyous three-day shriek, the inheritors of the earth came to life in an alfalfa field outside the village of Bethel, New York. Slapping the spark of life into the newborn was American rock and roll music provided by the Woodstock Music and Art Fair. And Dylan’s Mr. Jones, who has, indeed, been aware of what is happening, but has preferred to denounce the immorality of fucking around with his values, is now forced to acknowledge both the birth and its legitimacy. The New York Times , which had given the story front-page coverage for three days running, thundered on its editorial page the Monday-after that it was “an outrageous episode” and demanded to know “what kind of culture it is that can produce so colossal a mess?” But, in a reversal astounding for that Establishment journal, a second editorial Tuesday sheepishly allowed that the gathering was “essentially a phenomenon of innocence . . . they came, it seems, to … [Read more...] about Woodstock: ‘It Was Like Balling for the First Time’
