(Updated with statement from David Pecker ’s reps) National Enquirer ’s parent company have been fined for violating election law in 2016. Per the Wall Street Journal , A360 Media LLC agreed earlier this month to pay $187,500 as part of a settlement with the Federal Election Commission. The settlement has to do with a ‘catch and kill’ scheme on the part of the publisher to buy the story of ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal’s alleged affair with former president Donald Trump —thereby squashing it. Negotiations between A360 Media LLC and the FEC come on the heels of an admission three years ago, on the part of A360’s predecessor, American Media. At the time, the company admitted to federal prosecutors that it had paid McDougal $150,000 in hush money “in cooperation, consultation, and concert with” at least one member of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. The payment was ultimately characterized as an illegal corporate campaign contribution. 12:25 PM PT -- A spokesperson for Lu's station, KTLA, tells us the arrest is a misunderstanding -- she noticed the earbuds were left behind, and picked them up, "intending to return them to the owner whom she had been speaking with while in line to clear TSA." The spokesperson says when Lu was unable to locate the owner, she boarded her flight -- but she is fully cooperating with authorities. Former Miss USA Lu Parker is under arrest for pilfering a pair of high-end headphones at LAX ... TMZ has learned. The 1994 pageant winner, and current news anchor in L.A., allegedly lifted the headphones Wednesday morning at the TSA screening area in Terminal 6. BAFTA has pulled the curtain back on its Television Awards nominations, and This Is Going To Hurt and The Responder are leading the chase for a famous bronze mask. The BBC dramas each have six nominations across the BAFTA Television Awards and BAFTA Television Craft Awards, including Leading Actor for Ben Whishaw and Martin Freeman. Whishaw plays junior doctor Adam Kay in This Is Going To Hurt , which was co-produced by AMC. Freeman features as an urgent response police officer in The Responder . This Is Going To Hurt is nominated for Mini Series, while The Responder will compete in the Drama Series race. German media group ProSiebenSat.1 is to double down on entertainment investments and is eyeing acquisitions, as it puts streaming service Joyn at the center of its business. A statement released this morning outlined ProSieben’s strategic focus going forwards to address “tech challenges of the market environment and the changing media landscape,” with acquisitions playing a core part in the plan. ProSieben’s Entertainment division operates a number of terrestrial networks, which play shows such as The Masked Singer Germany and Next Top Model , and is now the sole owner of streaming service Joyn. It also operates Dating & Video and Commerce & Ventures arms. The company’s channels reach around 60 million viewers a week in total, according to its data. Hawaii DLNR The feds are investigating a large group of swimmers accused of harassing a pod of dolphins in Hawaii ... and the alleged violation is all on video. Drone footage shows a big group of snorkelers swimming right behind a spinner dolphin pod in Hōnaunau Bay off the Big Island, the humans get super close to the marine mammals. DLNR Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources announced Tuesday they were initiating cases against 33 swimmers, who the feds say "appear to be aggressively pursuing, corralling, and harassing the pod."
