Mike Pence must testify before a grand jury about his conversations with Donald Trump , forcing the former vice president to comply with a subpoena issued as part of a special counsel investigation of efforts to overturn the election on January 6 . CNN, citing unnamed sources, broke the news of Judge James Boasberg’s decision, and it was quickly confirmed by other outlets. According to CNnNand other outlets, the judge ruled in a sealed order that even though Pence has to appear before a grand jury, he could decline to answer questions related to his actions on January 6. Pence had argued that he was immune under the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause, given that he was serving as president of the Senate in overseeing the counting of the electoral votes. There’s a new version of The X-Files on the horizon from Ryan Coogler , according to series X-Files Chris Carter. “I just spoke to a young man, Ryan Coogler, who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. So, he’s got his work cut out for him because we covered so much territory,” Carter revealed Monday on the CBC podcast On t he Coast with Gloria Macarenko . 20th Television declined to comment. Deadline has reached out Coogler’s reps. Coogler’s production banner Proximity Media is under a five-year exclusive deal with Disney Television, which Deadline reported exclusively in 2021. An attorney for bankrupt movie theater chain Cineworld said today it has “several” interested parties eyeing its business in “rest of world” — meaning Israel and Europe outside the UK — but nothing pending for the entire company, or, it seems for Regal in the U.S. Final bids are due April 10, said Joshua Sussberg of Kirland Ellis. Two strategic suitors potentially were interested in the full company, but the offers were too lowball to consider moving forward with. Meanwhile, he said, a comprehensive restructuring plan is close to being ready as Regal, its lenders and unsecured creditors are “dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.” Sussberg said he hoped a plan might be filed as soon as Wednesday.
