The Second Impeachment Trial Of Donald Trump: A Preview Of What’s Happening And What To Expect

· February 8, 2021 ·

We’ve gone just over two weeks now without hearing much of anything from Donald Trump: Banned from Twitter, absent from Fox & Friends call-ins, the former president has been unusually low key at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida. That will change  Tuesday, when he will once again be at the center of the media spotlight, even if he’s not a presence live and in person. For only the fourth time in American history, the Senate will start an impeachment trial of a president — and it will be a first for a former commander in chief. Broadcast networks are planning special reports, while cable and streaming services networks will provide complete feeds of the proceedings. It was just over a year ago that Trump was acquitted in the Senate for his first impeachment, and there is every expectation that will be the same verdict again. Rush Limbaugh Did His Best to Ruin America

· February 17, 2021 ·

When Rush Limbaugh , the Great Bloviater of the AM dial, signed off from the “Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies,” two days before Christmas, he warned the faithful in the raspy remains of his famous trumpeting baritone: “The day is gonna come, folks, where I’m not going to be able to do this anymore.” For 13 terrible days in Trumpland — while the mad president that Limbaugh helped make possible was flailing for survival, while the faithful were trying to “ stop the steal ” of the election, and even while the Republicans blew their Senate majority in the Georgia runoffs — the loudest voice in the right-wing echo chamber remained silent. By the time January 6th rolled around, even the millions of fans praying for a miracle cancer cure had to figure: If Rush had passed up the chance to fearmonger about Raphael Warnock’s old sermons and mock Jon Ossoff’s hair, well, he must be finished. At least with his trademark golden microphone, if not with this earthly … [Read more...] about Rush Limbaugh Did His Best to Ruin America

Democrats will control the U.S. Senate thanks to voters in Georgia First, Rev. Raphael Warnock unseated incumbent appointee Sen. Kelly Loeffler to become the first black American ever elected to statewide office in Georgia and only the eleventh black senator in U.S. history. On Wednesday afternoon, amid the chaos at the Capitol, the Associated Press called Georgia’s other Senate election in favor of 33-year-old Democrat Jon Ossoff , who defeated incumbent Sen. Federal Judge to Postal Service: Fix What Louis DeJoy Broke

· September 18, 2020 ·

A federal judge has ordered the U.S. Postal Service — run by GOP megadonor-turned-Postmaster Louis DeJoy — to suspend and reverse changes that risk disrupting the 2020 election . District Judge Stanley Bastian’s ruling comes in response to a lawsuit filed by 14 states that alleged DeJoy misused his authority as postmaster to aid the reelection of Donald Trump . “ Plaintiffs have made a strong showing that the recent changes are the result of an effort by the current Administration to use the Postal Service as a tool in partisan politics” in violation of federal law, Bastian writes. “At the heart of DeJoy’s and the Postal Service’s actions is voter disenfranchisement.” Under DeJoy’s watch, the Postal Service has ripped out high-speed mail sorting equipment (apparently targeting pivotal swing states), put trucks on an inflexible schedules that forced them to depart regardless of whether the mail is on board, limited mail-carrier autonomy and overtime hours that can … [Read more...] about Federal Judge to Postal Service: Fix What Louis DeJoy Broke
