White House chief of staff John Kelly called President Trump “dishonorable” and considered quitting over the way he fired former FBI director James Comey, according to a report Thursday. Comey recounts Kelly’s emotional response to his dismissal in his forthcoming memoir, which is set to hit shelves next week, the Daily Beast reported. The longtime lawman writes that Kelly was “sick” about the situation and “intended to quit” in protest. Trump dumped Comey in May, later admitting that his decision was made in part because of the federal investigation into his campaign’s possible coordination with Russian looking to influence the election. EPA boss Pruitt mucking up Trump and Kelly's relationship Comey learned of his firing from a television news report while he was addressing agents in California. EPA head Scott Pruitt is mucking up President Trump and chief of staff John Kelly’s relationship
The polluting presence of Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt is stressing the already strained relationship between President Trump and White House chief of staff John Kelly. Trump expressed his support for the embattled EPA head Friday, tweeting that he is “doing a great job but is TOTALLY under siege.” But Kelly — along with a whole host of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle — believes that Pruitt should go, according to several reports this week. While Kelly and other aides have concluded that Pruitt should be fired, Trump is not ready to see him off, according to the Wall Street Journal. Trump Was Reportedly ‘Tired of Being Told No’ By John Kelly So He Just Doesn’t Tell Him Anything Now
For weeks now, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has been rumored to be a dead man walking and that his time in the job may soon be coming to an end. And President Donald Trump’s recent behavior has seemed to support that belief as Trump has seemed unleashed in the past month, what with his Twitter firings and surprising policy announcements. Whether Trump is going to kick Kelly to the curb or not may still remain a mystery. But one thing seems apparent — Trump has decided to ignore Kelly. But he has grown tired of Kelly’s attempts to control him and is now just going to do his own thing. Trump recently told one confidant that he was “tired of being told no” by Kelly and has instead chosen to simply not tell Kelly things at all, according to a person who was not authorized to publicly discuss private conversations and spoke on … [Read more...] about Trump Was Reportedly ‘Tired of Being Told No’ By John Kelly So He Just Doesn’t Tell Him Anything Now
Trump is freezing out Chief of Staff John Kelly because he’s ‘tired of being told no’
WASHINGTON — When President Trump made a congratulatory phone call to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, White House chief of staff John Kelly wasn't on the line. When Trump tapped John Bolton to be his next national security adviser, Kelly wasn't in the room. And when Trump spent a Mar-a-Lago weekend stewing over immigration and trade, Kelly wasn't in sight. Kelly, once empowered to bring order to a turbulent West Wing, has receded from view, his clout diminished, his word less trusted by staff and his guidance less tolerated by an increasingly go-it-alone President. Emboldened in his job, Trump has rebelled against Kelly's restrictions and mused about doing away with the chief of staff post entirely. It's all leading White House staffers and Trump allies to believe that Kelly is working on borrowed time. In recent weeks, Trump has governed at breakneck pace, ousting aides and issuing surprise policy announcements on Twitter, recreating the helter-skelter feel of his first … [Read more...] about Trump is freezing out Chief of Staff John Kelly because he’s ‘tired of being told no’
