Eight-time Grammy winner Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem at this year’s Super Bowl LVII, the NFL announced today as the organization released the pregame entertainment line-up. Twelve-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist, songwriter and producer Babyface , a 12-time Grammy winner, will sing “America the Beautiful,” and Abbot Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph will perform the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Oscar-winning CODA actor Troy Kotsur will perform the national anthem in American Sign Language, with Colin Denny, a member of the Navajo Nation in Arizona, signing “America the Beautiful” and Justin Miles will signing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Also as part of the pregame show, the U.S. Navy will conduct a flyover of Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium during the national anthem to commemorate 50 years of women flying in the service. Vice TV has teamed with Jimmy Kimmel ’s Kimmelot and ITV America on Super Maximum Retro Sho w, a series based on the viral Super70sSports Twitter feed. Hosted by comedian Chris Distefano , Super Maximum Retro Show will premiere on Vice TV on Tuesday, March 7 at 10 PM. Super Maximum Retro Show comes from Ricky Cobb, who is behind the Twitter account, and will feature “the best, worst and most outrageous” videos, photos, ads and games from the 70s, 80s and 90s, In each episode the show’s guest panelists will comment, joke and make fun some of the most absurd things to come out of those decades in the pre-Internet era. Onyx Collective has landed a pair of documentaries including Questlove ’s upcoming Sly Stone film. The brand, which airs on Hulu, will air both Questlove’s Untitled Sly Stone documentary and Anthem , which follows composer Kris Bowers and music producer Dahi as they take on a musical journey across the U.S. experimenting to reimagine the National Anthem. Separately, the brand has struck an overall deal with Joseph Patel, who produced Oscar-winning doc Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised alongside Questlove. Questlove will direct the Stone doc about Stone, otherwise known as Sylvester Stewart, who was frontman of Sly and the Family Stone and known for pioneering funk music. Two of the DC series on HBO Max , Titans and Doom Patrol , will be coming to an end. Both recently wrapped their six-episode Season 4A runs on the streamer, and the upcoming second halves of their fourth seasons will be the shows’ final chapters. Both had been crafted to give the series a proper ending. Titans and Doom Patrol , both from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, are the last live-action series from the slate of the now-defunct DC Universe. They made the transition to HBO Max after the first two seasons when DC Universe folded. Titans and Doom Patrol then ran for two more seasons, with the creatives behind both mapping those seasons to complete their story arcs.
