Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James went after media members following the Lakers' win on Wednesday night ... blasting them for not asking about the racial controversy engulfing Jerry Jones -- while wondering why they were so "quick to ask us questions" about the Kyrie Irving drama earlier this year. The NBA star unleashed the scolding unprompted after reporters had just finished peppering him with questions about L.A.'s 128-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. "I got one question for you guys before you guys leave," the 37-year-old said. "I was thinking when I was on my way over here, I was wondering why I haven't gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo." Of course, 'Bron is referring to the 1957 picture that resurfaced last week ... showing the Dallas Cowboys owner as a teenager standing with a group of white classmates who were trying to prevent six Black students from entering an Arkansas school. NFL Network Deshaun Watson shut down any non-football related questions prior to his first start as a Cleveland Brown ... saying he was advised to not get into his suspension and the numerous sexual misconduct allegations made against him. Watson met with reporters on Thursday -- the first time since his 11-game suspension ended this week -- and anyone looking to hear the quarterback address the controversy surrounding him was left without answers. "I understand that you guys have a lot of questions, but with my legal team and clinical team, there's only football questions I can address at this time," Watson said at the Browns' facility in Berea. Of course, many want to hear from Deshaun ... especially considering there have been new allegations made against him following his suspension. Courtesy of NBA The Lakers might need to switch up their promotional giveaways at this point ... 'cause yet another fan sank a half-court shot at Wednesday's game -- resulting in a $25,000 payday!! The unbelievable moment went down during a break in the action at Crypto.com Arena ... when the man selected for the MGM Rewards Big Shot Jackpot pulled up from deep -- and drained the shot!! The dude fell to his knees to soak in the moment ... before getting back up and hyping the crowd. It's a helluva shot, but it's even more insane considering what went down at Tuesday's game. Remember, a fan went ballistic just two days ago after succeeding in the same challenge ... which came with a fat $75k check. The bucket had the Lakers players going wild ... with Anthony Davis giving the guy a big hug. Courtesy of NBA The probability of this happening AGAIN is so slim ... especially when most participants can't even make it to the end of the court, let … [Read more...] about Second Lakers Fan Nails Half-Court Shot Challenge, Makes $25k!
In Weird: The Al Yankovic Story , Daniel Radcliffe steps into a surrealist, fictionalized take on the rise to fame of the quirky accordion player and singer. “Being British, I think the first time I ever heard him referenced was in The Simpsons ,” Radcliffe says. Featuring a cast of cameos so unexpected and rich that even the Harry Potter star was constantly taken aback, the film led him to attempt the accordion for real, in this latest of a series of roles in which he has leaned into his comedic and musical chops. He recalls the films that make him cry and his early life on set, and quietly admits to a penchant for The Bachelor franchise. My First Film Lesson A lot of the crew of the first Potter film had come from a film with a very notoriously hard to work with lead actor. And then we also had a very legendary assistant director from the British film industry called Michael Stevenson who had worked with and knew Michael Caine really well. The difference … [Read more...] about On My Screen: Daniel Radcliffe On ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’, His Directing Dreams, The Most Fun He’s Had On Set & What Makes Him Cry
When Michael Eisner was making a ceremonial exit as Disney ’s CEO in 2005 he acknowledged that the intrigues of succession had become “Shakespearean.” Rival corporate factions were vying for power. Some insiders were persuaded that Eisner never would actually depart. Eisner himself heightened the drama by “forgetting” to introduce his announced successor, Bob Iger , at key functions. Iger famously stormed out from one of them. Wall Street, too, was nervous about a transition. Under Eisner’s 20-year reign Disney’s revenues had increased from $1.6 billion to $30 billion and major investors doubted whether Iger or anyone else could successfully govern such a politicized Disney. Veteran employees openly yearned for a return to the peace and focus of old Walt’s tenure. They still do. Now, with Iger assuming the helm a second time , some Disney denizens see similar Shakespearean subplots re-intruding in the script. Their question: Can anyone, even Iger, actually govern … [Read more...] about Peter Bart: Shakespearean Subplots Threaten Bob Iger’s Second Act
