The streaming giant's debut Indian production will return with lead star Saif Ali Khan playing a Mumbai policeman battling a notorious gangster played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Netflix has confirmed the second season of Sacred Games, the streaming giant's debut Indian original that bowed in July to critical acclaim. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra, the eight-episode series opened with top Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh, a Mumbai policeman who gets a surprise call from notorious gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who was missing and considered dead for 15 years. Gaitonde tells Singh he has 25 days to save Mumbai and its residents (save for one person) who all face imminent death, leading him on a quest to unravel the mystery. Original Evil Dead director Sam Raimi says a new movie in the classic horror franchise is being developed and the plan is for the project to have someone new in the director's chair. Speaking with fans at New York Comic-Con while promoting the upcoming reboot of The Grudge, Raimi spoke about the current status of the Evil Dead series. "There's more Evil Dead coming," Raimi teased, stopping short of revealing any specific plot details. Raimi also told fans Bruce Campbell would be on board as a producer, but wouldn't be starring in the movie as the actor is "tired of me throwing blood on him."
