ABC’s The Bachelor won Monday’s primetime ratings race as Matt and his crew of potential brides-to-be bowled their way to a 1.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 5.23 million viewers. The two-hour episode was down a tenth in the demo from last week, but it was still enough to top the night in the demo. Meanwhile, it was Fox’s 9-1-1 (1.1, 6.62M) which scored the night’s largest audience, followed by 9-1-1: Lone Star (0.9, 5.44M). Both shows ticked up in the demo from last week. The CW’s Black Lightning (0.2, 525,000) returned for its fourth and final season, nearly matching its numbers for the Season 3 finale. After taking a week off, CBS saw the return of its Monday lineup with Bob Hearts Abishola (0.8, 5.44M) ticking up in the demo and The Neighborhood (0.9, 5.97M), All Rise (0.5, 4.05M) and Bull (0.5, 5.23M) holding steady across … [Read more...] about ‘The Bachelor’ And ‘9-1-1’ Lead Monday Night Ratings; ‘Black Lightning’ Returns Steady
NBC’s flagship drama This Is Us returned with a new episode Tuesday after being sidelined three weeks because of Covid-related production delays and was welcomed as primetime’s top-rated show, drawing a 1.0 rating and 4.99 million viewers. It wasn’t a blowout, but the Detroit Lions won comfortably 26-10 over the New England Patriots on NBC ’s Sunday Night Football . That translated into a 13.6 rating/23 share in the metered market households (excluding live streaming). That was off by a fraction from the 13.8/24 in the early numbers for the Dallas Cowboys’ victory last week over the New York Giants and the lowest overnight delivery so far this season. The three SNF games to date have drawn 14.4, 13.8 and 13.6 ratings. Still, last night’s game was up 18% from SNF ‘s Game 3 last season (Washington Redskins – Oakland Raiders), which hit a then-season-low 11.6/20 at the height of the players’ protests during the national anthem, and the highest-rated Week 3 game since 2015. It is the second consecutive game to post a double-digit gain vs. 2017. The NBC SNF overnight ratings for Patriots-Lions peaked at 14.3/24 in second quarter (9-9:30 PM ET). The Patriots’ home market Boston delivered the highest … [Read more...] about ‘Sunday Night Football’ Week 3 Rating Slip A Notch From Week 2, Up Double Digits From 2017
UPDATE, 10:10 AM: Despite airing on a Monday — and in August and right before the Labor Day weekend — the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards bagged an average of 15.6 million viewers, the second-biggest overall crowd for the franchise in eight years. It was behind only last year’s 17.8 million, which had benefited from a Sunday scheduling, a September airdate, and a high-rated NFL lead-in. On the other hand, that CBS Emmycast had to compete against a highly rated NBC Sunday Night Football game (Chicago/Pittsburgh) which averaged 20.5 million viewers and a 7.7 rating in the demo. Anyway, excluding last year, it’s the top Emmys in total viewers since the Sunday broadcast on August 27, 2006, also on NBC, which averaged 16.2 million viewers. In the demo, the Emmycast’s 4.2 rating equals the second-highest Emmy ratings in seven years. The overall crowd of 15.6 million makes this the most-watched night on any network since ABC’s Academy Awards on March 2. That said, that Oscarcast clocked … [Read more...] about UPDATE: Seth Meyers Delivers Second-Highest Emmy Ratings In Eight Years — 15.6 Million Viewers
