Luhrmann elated in a statement, “We’re back to, as Elvis liked to say, ‘taking care of business!’ It is a real privilege in this unprecedented global moment that Tom Hanks has been able to return to Australia to join Austin Butler and all of our extraordinary cast and crew to commence production on Elvis. I cannot emphasize enough how lucky we feel in the current climate that the state of Queensland, and Queenslanders in general, have been so supportive of this film. We thank our partners in the Queensland Government and Queensland Health for their extremely diligent process, so that we can be an example how creativity and productivity can proceed safely and responsibly in a way that protects our team and the community at large. We are all excited to start working with Tom Hanks when he is out of quarantine in two weeks.” … [Read more...] about ‘Elvis’: Baz Luhrmann-Tom Hanks Movie Returning To Production In Australia After COVID-19 Shutdown

LUHRMANN: We immediately shut down that day. Then Dr. Wattiaux got so thorough. I’d shot it all on video because we were practicing camera coverage. We projected all the footage to see who exactly had touched Tom, or who had been near him for X amount of time. Rita [Wilson] had performed in Sydney that weekend, so she had been in the opera house. He went there on a Friday, so what they call shedding, when you become infection, only happened on that weekend. So he was only one day here, that day. Everybody who was in the footage — and that included Austin and myself — we were one hundred percent quarantined for 14 days, no contact with anybody. There comes a time when you’re a player/coach, and then a coach. I don’t think Billy ever thought he was done playing. That was a lesson for me. I’ve read Quentin Tarantino say that a director has a sweet spot in his career, and that’s … [Read more...] about Tom Hanks, Jamie Foxx, Billy Wilder & Gwyneth Paltrow? Luhrmann was struck by that speech and felt it was an exception to the lack of straight-shooting words of comfort in these times. He got together with his music team over Zoom last weekend and made the remix with the Queen’s speech and Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again.” If enough people from all walks of life send Luhrmann a video of themselves singing to it — the place to send is [email protected] — the Moulin Rouge director will cut a video from that, in an effort to spread a little community and joy. … [Read more...] about Baz Luhrmann Records New ‘Sunscreen’ For Coronavirus Pandemic 2020, With Help From Queen Elizabeth II
Not An Adult Comedy The director also revealed that Rangeela is not a sex comedy. He mentioned that movies of that genre won't work in Malayalam. "The only aspect that the audience might find a bit raunchy would be a special dance number her character would be performing in a shooting set. Otherwise the entire movie has humour and thriller elements.", the director was quoted as saying to Times Of India. … [Read more...] about Sunny Leone’s Debut Malayalam Movie Rangeela Is Not An Adult Comedy; The Director Opens Up!
