Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Smoczynska ( The Lure, Fugue) makes her English-language debut with The Silent Twins , the strange and remarkable story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, twin sisters who only communicated with each other from 8 to later-teen years when drugs and drinking led to petty theft and an arson charge that landed them in the tightly secured medical ward of Broadmoor for 11 years before being released in the 1980s. Creating their own puppetry and dolls, poems and music, which they only broadcast for each other on a fake radio program, the “twinnies” as they were called by family fell into an odd void that became more pronounced, even when they were forced to go to separate schools at one point. And they carried on this way until becoming young women landing and in legal trouble until incredibly being incarcerated for over a decade, five or six times as long as the longest sentence for the petty crimes of which they were accused. How Upfronts 2022 Became Covid Superspreader Event
Late-night hosts are brought in by networks to provide comic relief at their upfront presentations. But turns out Seth Meyers was only half joking when he told the thousands who had packed Radio City Music Hall for NBCUniversal’s presentation, “What a historic room to be able to tell people you got Covid in.” Ten days later, Covid cases are sweeping through the ranks of those who attended the marathon of events in New York last week. One of Marilyn Manson’s Abuse Lawsuits Dismissed Over Statute of Limitations
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by Marilyn Manson ’s former assistant over the statute of limitations, which expired after two years from the alleged crimes. Ashley Walter’s initial suit against the vocalist, whose real name is Brian Warner, alleged sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual harassment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other claims. Thus, nine to 10 years passed until the filing of the action, far beyond the two-year limitations periods of her claims.” … [Read more...] about One of Marilyn Manson’s Abuse Lawsuits Dismissed Over Statute of Limitations

It said more than 140 million Twitter users provided email addresses or phone numbers “based on Twitter’s deceptive statements that their information would be used to … [Read more...] about Twitter To Pay $150 Million To Settle FTC, DOJ Charge It Handed User Data To Advertisers
