Washington Redskins president Bruce Allen said Thursday the team is "looking into" troubling allegations former cheerleaders made to The New York Times about the treatment of cheerleaders at a 2013 calendar photo shoot in Costa Rica.In a statement, Allen said the team had spoken with "a number of" Redskins cheerleaders who provided accounts that "directly contradict" details in the Times' story, which cited five cheerleaders present at the photo shoot who did not disclose their names because they had signed non-disclosure agreements."The Redskins organization is very concerned by the allegations involving our cheerleaders in the recent New York Times article," Allen said. "We are immediately looking into this situation and want to express how serious we take these allegations. Times reporting on Weinstein to be turned into Hollywood film
Brad Pitt's production house Plan B and Annapurna Pictures have acquired the rights to make the film, The New York Times confirmed Thursday. The story was first reported by specialized Hollywood news outlet Deadline. The film will chronicle the work of Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey investigating Weinstein's misconduct -- stories that recently earned them a Pulitzer Prize, which they shared with Ronan Farrow of The New Yorker. Producers are looking to Oscar-winning films "Spotlight" and "All the President's Men" as their models for the movie, which will focus not on Weinstein's litany of alleged misdeeds but on the journalists and the obstacles they faced while reporting. Since the Times and New Yorker articles last October, more than 100 women have publicly accused Weinstein of misconduct ranging from sexual harassment to rape, sparking the #MeToo movement that has seen a string of influential men lose their jobs and reputation. Weinstein's marriage has ended; he has … [Read more...] about Times reporting on Weinstein to be turned into Hollywood film
Trump says he doesn’t see lawyer Michael Cohen flipping on him as he rips New York Times report
President Trump is flipping out. Trump pushed back on reports Saturday that his longtime lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen might “flip” on him as the government investigates the attorney’s finances. “Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble,” even if “it means lying or making up stories,” the President tweeted from his Palm Beach, Fla. golf club. “Sorry, I don’t see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!” Trump’s tantrum was sparked by a New York Times report about speculations that Cohen could end up cooperating with federal investigators. The Times is “going out of their way” to destroy Cohen and his relationship with Trump in the hopes of making him “flip.” The FBI raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room earlier this month looking for evidence of fraud. The raid has angered Trump, who has called it an assault on … [Read more...] about Trump says he doesn’t see lawyer Michael Cohen flipping on him as he rips New York Times report

President Donald Trump took aim at a New York Times report that the special counsel is investigating a speech he made during the 2016 campaign, for which Trump’s foundation was paid a large sum by a Ukrainian steel magnate. The story was published on Monday, but it appears Trump has only gotten to it today. It reported on a subpoena sent to the Trump Organization for documents about a 20-minute speech Trump gave via Skype in 2015, in exchange for $150,000 from a Ukrainian billionaire, Victor Pinchuk. Trump called the story “phony” in his tweet, claiming it “was political pundit Doug Schoen, not a Ukrainian businessman, who asked me to do a short speech by phone (Skype), hosted by Doug, in Ukraine.” The Failing New York Times wrote another phony story. It was political pundit Doug Schoen, not a Ukrainian businessman, who asked me to do a short speech by phone (Skype), hosted by Doug, in Ukraine.
