WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Matt Harvey walked out of the visitor’s clubhouse at Nationals Park Saturday looking forward to Sunday night. The Mets right-hander was not concerned about the forecast of cold weather or the idea of facing a team that has had his and the Mets’ number of the last few years. There is conviction and confidence brewing with the Mets as Harvey tries to complete the Mets’ first sweep of the Nationals since August 2015. That sweep at Citi Field that propelled the Mets on to the National League East title and a World Series run. And why shouldn’t the 6-1 team be confident? Everything is seemingly coming up Mets and new manager Mickey Callaway seemingly cannot make a bad decision. Saturday, even Steven Matz, who looked so shaky in his first start of the year back at Citi Field against the Cardinals, came up with five strong innings in a 3-2 win over the Nationals in a brutally cold game at Nationals Park. “He had a lot more confidence and … [Read more...] about Mets, a win away from sweeping Nationals, are playing with tons of conviction and confidence
Throw away email
During her much-watched and heavily-covered press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Hillary Clinton said, “When I got to work as Secretary of State, I opted for convenience to use my personal email account, which was allowed by the State Department, because I thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal emails instead of two.” At first glance, especially to an audience of reporters used to managing multiple email accounts on one mobile device, this statement seemed either technologically ignorant or willfully obtuse. Fox News’ Eric Bolling accused her of lying saying, “Any tenth grader can set up multiple email accounts on a single hand-held device.” Former Arkansas governor and potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckbee said in an interview, “Anyone with an iPhone who paid their bill last month should know that you can have one device and multiple accounts that will come to that device,” … [Read more...] about Why Couldn’t Hillary Clinton Just Put Two Email Accounts on One Phone?
After months of displaying a demonstrable anti-Hillary Clinton and pro-Bernie Sanders bias, something seems to have changed at MSNBC, if the network’s two most recent interviews are any indication. Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who only ever take time out from attacking Hillary to fluff Donald Trump, conducted a nearly 40-minute interview with Clinton that was softer than a warm roll of Charmin. The interview aired Friday morning, and here’s a taste of what Hillary faced on that snuggly firing line:Even the brief foray into Hillary’s email “scandal” was as gentle as a baby aspirin.By contrast, Bernie Sanders did an hour-long town hall special with Chris Matthews Thursday night, and the questioning there went beyond adversarial and into sneering derisiveness that was just this side of abusive:Now, there are ways and there are ways to conduct a “tough” interview, but spending 14 minutes stuck in the same ditch while you … [Read more...] about Game Changed: MSNBC Throws Bernie Into a Fire, Hillary Into a Pillow Fight
Melissa Harris-Perry has walked off her own MSNBC program. She should just keep on walking…Said walk-off comes in protest around her weekend program being pre-empted a whole two weekends in a row as the network — like basically everyone else — has gone all-in on election coverage. This decision by MSNBC management was obviously far too much for the fragile ego of Ms. Harris-Perry to handle, so she decided it was a really good idea to commit TV career suicide instead. And that’s what we’re all witnessing right now: A complete meltdown by someone who really should know better than to go down that one-way road to public access. It truly is a shame to see, because as Harris-Perry is about to learn, she really carved out quite the perfect career: Presidential Chair Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Wake Forest, columnist for The Nation and host of a two-hour national cable news show two days a week. For those scoring at home, that’s the … [Read more...] about Harris-Perry Throws Away TV Career, Petulantly Plays Race Card From Bottom of the Deck
On Fox & Friends, Wednesday, the couch regulars assembled to pick apart the most recent bombshell revelation: that Donald Trump Jr. had actively sought to collude with the Russian government to undermine Hillary Clinton in the 2016 campaign.Joining them was former campaign chief and Trump stalwart Corey Lewandowski to throw cold water on the whole story.“This happens every day in a campaign,” he said. “It is a courtesy meeting to sit down for 10 or 15 minutes to listen to what people have to say. When you find out that it’s not relevant you walk away and say thank you for your time and you move on.”That’s all — move alone, nothing to see here.Lewandowski, however, was quick to assert that neither he nor President Trump knew about the meeting.“Neither one of us knew anything about the meeting because it was a nothing meeting.” he said .Ainsley Earhardt jumped in with the “real” issue when she asked whether the … [Read more...] about ‘This Happens Every Day in a Campaign’: Corey Lewandowski Throws Cold Water on Trump Jr. Scandal
