Leading With Love: Why Compassion Is the Greatest Leadership Tool
Opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not reflect the views of Rolling Stone editors or publishers. A common misconception that many people have about leadership is that you have to be intimidating and demand respect in order to be a great leader. In fact, many of us see leaders as cold, aloof or emotionless. These presumed characteristics paint a portrait of leaders as people who are disinterested in being shown any sort of love, affection or friendship. This could not be any further from the truth. ‘2 Be Loved’ Lizzo Ditches ‘Truth Hurts’ Lizzo at the Altar in New Video
Lizzo is a runaway bride in her new video for “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready).” On Monday, the singer released the visual to accompany her latest single from her Special album, released earlier this summer. The video opens with Lizzo walking down the aisle, recreating the scene from her “Truth Hurts” visual before she second-guesses the idea of marrying herself. The singer then ditches the ceremony altogether, to the surprise of the attendees. “Am I ready? (You deserve it now)/’Cause I want it (that’s what I’m talkin’ about),” she sings in the chorus as she leaves the wedding. “Am I ready? (You gon’ figure it out)/To be loved, to be loved.” Lizzo drives away in a red car before pulling to the side of the road and seeing a beautiful man in a motorcycle. The two hug and share a sweet moment before Lizzo leans for a kiss — but it turns out the guy was an illusion all along, and she was just making out with a tree. (The guy seems to be the fantasy she yearns for in the track’s lyrics.) … [Read more...] about ‘2 Be Loved’ Lizzo Ditches ‘Truth Hurts’ Lizzo at the Altar in New Video

Brittney Griner ’s defense team has filed an appeal against the verdict that has sentenced the WNBA player to nine years in prison after she was f ound guilty of smuggling illegal narcotics into Russia , Griner’s lawyer Maria Blagovolina told CNN . While the judge maintains that the court took Griner’s partial admission of guilt into consideration, as well as her remorse and charitable actions, the U.S. State Department maintains that she is being wrongfully detained. “Today’s conviction and sentencing by a Russian court of U.S. citizen Brittney Griner to nine years in prison further compounds the injustice of her wrongful detention,” Secretary of State Antony J.
