CBS’ Grammys Telecast Skips Closed Captions For Bad Bunny & Displays “Singing Non-English” Instead
Bad Bunny opened the 2023 Grammy Awards with an explosive performance that even had Taylor Swift dancing to his hit songs. Throughout the live ceremony, CBS provided closed captioning for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. However, during Bad Bunny’s performance, the captions only displayed the following text: “SINGING NON-ENGLISH” or “SPEAKING NON-ENGLISH.” Some viewers took to social media to gripe about the closed captions not transcribing what the artist was singing or saying. The other musical acts enjoyed their performances being transcribed for viewers at home that turned the CC feature on. Bad Bunny would later take the stage and when he delivered his speech, people with the CC featured only saw, “SPEAKING NON-ENGLISH.” CBS and the Grammys might not have known that Bad Bunny would win a gramophone during the live telecast, but they knew that he would be on stage performing his songs that are in Spanish. This could’ve been planned and have … [Read more...] about CBS’ Grammys Telecast Skips Closed Captions For Bad Bunny & Displays “Singing Non-English” Instead
Grammys Slam Donald Trump & “Unsuccessful Muslim Ban” In Tribe Called Quest Performance
The Grammy Awards tonight took their first direct named hit on Donald Trump and his recently still halted travel ban Executive Order with A Tribe Called Quest attacking the President from the stage of the Staples Center in downtown L.A. “Resist, resist, resist,” chanted ATCQ leader Q-Tip to cheers at the end of the legendary hip-hop group’s performance at the live awards ceremony just before 8 PM PT. The words came at the end of a politically charged rendition of the band’s “Movin Backwards,” “We The People “ and other songs. The words also came as the stage of the arena was filled with people representing the groups that the court blunted immigration policies of the former Celebrity Apprentice host seemingly aimed to block from coming to America. “I’m not digging the political climate right now, said long time ATCQ collaborator Busta Rhymes about a third of the way through the band’s performance. “I just wanna thank President Agent Orange for … [Read more...] about Grammys Slam Donald Trump & “Unsuccessful Muslim Ban” In Tribe Called Quest Performance

‘The Last Of Us’ Has Made A New Hit Of Linda Ronstadt’s 53-Year-Old Song ’Long Long Time’ – All Because Seth Rudetsky Knows Everything
Two years ago to this very day, Seth Rudetsky , the Broadway composer, musician, podcaster, host of a show on SiriusXM radio, fundraiser , musical cruise host, conveyer of pop culture trivia and, now, “source music consultant,” received a text from Craig Mazin, the screenwriter, director and producer. Mazin was friends with Ted Griffin, who is married to Sutton Foster, who knows, as does seemingly everybody else in musical theater, Rudetsky. “I get this text,” Sudetsky remembers, “in all capital letters, saying IT’S EMMY AND GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD WINNING CRAIG MAZIN. STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING. I NEED YOUR HELP.” Specifically, Mazin needed a song for a TV episode he was working on, a show tune along the lines of “I Miss The Music” from the 2006 Kander & Ebb musical Curtains , only older. If you’ve seen the third episode of HBO’s The Last Of U s, the post-apocalyptic drama created by Mazin and Neil Druckmann (based on a 2013 video game), you’ll know where this is … [Read more...] about ‘The Last Of Us’ Has Made A New Hit Of Linda Ronstadt’s 53-Year-Old Song ’Long Long Time’ – All Because Seth Rudetsky Knows Everything
