Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's Fast and Furious Spin-Off has been talked about a lot over the past 6 months and now it seems that the project may have found a director. A new report states that Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch is the frontrunner to helm the untitled spin-off, which is pretty big considering other reports that popped up earlier this week claiming that the movie could get pushed back over a lack of director, but those reports may have just been proven to be false. Fans have been waiting quite a while to get to see Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs team up with Jason Statham's Deckard Show in their own Fast and Furious spin-off and it looks like the original release date of July 26th, 2019 will stand. The Predator director Shane Black was rumored to direct the project for a short amount of time, but that appears to have also been false. David Leitch is on top of the action genre game at the moment and his name seems perfect for the spin-off. Disney's Jungle Cruise movie has just added another passenger, with Emily Blunt now set to star alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The Rock has been attached to this project since August 2015, and now he finally has some company. No details have been given for Emily Blunt's character, but with production slated to begin this May, we may get more details soon, along with more casting updates. Way back in September 2015, Dwayne Johnson described this project as an, "edgy period movie," hinting that it was set in the 1920s. This new report from Variety reveals that this film was "inspired by" the classic film The African Queen, with the studio hoping for the same kind of chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt as seen in The African Queen between screen legends Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. While The African Queen was released in 1951, the story was set during World War I, which falls in line with the 1920s setting Dwayne Johnson mentioned earlier. Sources claim that … [Read more...] about Emily Blunt Joins The Rock in Disney’s Jungle Cruise
All we can say is aww. The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, proved this weekend that that all that bulging muscle isn’t just for show. In a very superhero-esque move, he saved his brand-new French bulldog puppy from drowning. Read more See Taraji P. Henson's New 'Glamour' Cover It went down like this: Johnson, who looks like he could easily save anybody from anything dangerous, brought home two new additions to the family: French bulldog puppies named Brutus and Hobbs. Well, as soon as he set the little guys down, they sprinted toward the pool and fell into the deep end. According to Johnson, "Hobbs immediately started doggie paddling while Brutus (like a brick) sinks head first to the bottom of the pool." What happened next was a move worthy of Superman. "I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean Brutus, and bring him back to the edge of the pool." Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had some apparent fighting words for some of his fellow male leads in the upcoming Fast 8, the latest installment to the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise. In a social media post Monday afternoon, Johnson appeared to criticize some of the guys he is co-starring with, going as far as to call them "candy asses." "My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em. My male co-stars however are a different story," Johnson wrote to his more than 56 million Facebook followers. "Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you're right." A request by Heat Vision for additional comment was not returned. The Facebook post was confusing to some, as it seems out of character for Johnson, … [Read more...] about Why Did The Rock Publicly Criticize His ‘Fast 8’ Co-Stars?
For even longer than Shazam has officially been slated for the DC Extended Universe, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been attached to play one of the eponymous hero's greatest enemies: Black Adam. However, due to The Rock now being one of the most popular movie stars in the world, Black Adam's importance in the DCEU has been increased. In addition to eventually appearing in a Shazam movie (though not necessarily the first one), DC announced that Black Adam will also star in his own movie. Even weirder, there's chatter that he might appear in Aquaman as well. DC has no trouble with giving villains the cinematic spotlight, as evidenced by Suicide Squad and the in-development Gotham City Sirens, but the news of Black Adam's upgraded status came as a surprise, though certainly not an unwarranted one, given the character's complexities and Johnson's fame. Even though there's still a long wait ahead for Shazam and the Black Adam movie, we've put together a comprehensive list of everything … [Read more...] about Black Adam: Everything You Need To Know About The Rock’s DC Character
