In 1987, Rolling Stone Contributing Editor Jonathan Cott sat down with Elizabeth Taylor in her suite at New York’s Hôtel Plaza Athénée, when the actress was 55. “There was no standing on ceremony, no pretense, no pulling punches,” recalls Cott. “She was so forthright, witty and fearless.” The previously unpublished interview is presented here for the first time. Photos: Five Elizabeth Taylor’s Films to Get Lost In You started making films in Hollywood during the 1940s. How has the movie business changed since then?sin to be considered a Hollywood actor. Even worse to be a star — God forbid a superstar. Stage actors would accuse people of selling out when they’d go to Hollywood. Actually, I think the whole thing is a bunch of bullshit, and I always have. An actor is an actor whether it’s in Hollywood, whether it’s in Africa, whether it’s on stage, television or in film. Stephen Hawking Dead at 76
Breaking News Launch Gallery Getty Stephen Hawking, the world's most famous theoretical physicist -- celebrated for his black hole discoveries -- has died ... according to his family. It appears Hawking died early Wednesday. His 3 children released a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened that our beloved father passed away today." Hawking had suffered from a rare early-onset form of ALS most of his life, which left him wheelchair-bound and almost entirely paralyzed. He could still communicate with the aid of a computer and the muscles in his cheek. The world-renowned British scientist wrote several landmark books, including "A Brief History of Time." His black hole theories and discoveries were so vast ... the radiation that comes from them is called Hawking radiation. Stephen guest starred on several TV shows as himself, such as "The Simpsons" and "The Big Bang Theory." He was also written into an episode of "Family Guy," but Seth MacFarlane did the voice. Lou Reed: A New York State of Mind
“There’s a bit of magic in everything,” Lou Reed once sang, “and then some loss to even things out.” Reed died exactly one year ago today at the age of 71, and although his loss will never even things out, it is an appropriate day to celebrate his enduring creative spirit and the undying magic of his inspiring musical and poetic legacy. In commemoration of the first anniversary of his death, we are presenting for the first time the complete version of a remarkable interview that Lou Reed did with contributing editor Jonathan Cott early in 1989 in New York City. This year marks the 25th anniversary of one of rock & roll’s most audacious and electrifying recordings. Released in 1989 and simply titled New York, Lou Reed’s fifteenth solo album unflinchingly depicted with savage indignation and the fervency of a biblical prophet an AIDS-stricken city in which friends were continually “disappearing” – a desolation row of … [Read more...] about Lou Reed: A New York State of Mind

The studio has released the first trailer, poster and a new photo for Man Down, which will go up against Relativity's thriller Kidnap and High Top Releasing's horror film Incarnate. It remains to be seen how wide a release Man Down will have when it opens, or if it will expand throughout the holiday season.
