A Small Light , National Geographic’s limited series that depicts the Dutch woman who risked her life to shelter Anne Frank’s family from the Nazis, steers clear of pointing any fingers at the person (or people) who betrayed the family. The project from Grey’s Anatomy alums Joan Rater and Tony Phelan follows Miep Gies (Bel Powley), who agreed to hide her boss Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) and his family during World War I. “Miep always said we are never going to know [who betrayed them],” Rater told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Tour. “I’ll read one account and think, they did it , and then I’ll read a separate one and think, they did it. We felt it was important that we don’t answer that question. We don’t skirt it … we posit a person who could have. Gordon Edwards Burns, an Alabama TV personality nicknamed “ Country Boy Eddie ” who was an early supporter of Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Emmy Lou Harris and other budding country superstars, has died at 92. His family confirmed his death but did not provide a cause, saying merely that he died “peacefully at his home” in Warrior, Alabama. Burns was the host of The Country Boy Eddie Show with Country Boy Eddie, a talent showcase for rising stars. The folksy Burns hosted the show from 1957 at age 27 until his retirement in 1993. His family’s statement noted “He was a trailblazer for both the Alabama music and television scenes, and his contributions will continue to live on. Ramsey first gained a fervent fan club for playing the strong young ruler Lyanna Mormont in HBO ’s Game of Thrones between 2016 and 2019. Now, she’s set to star in HBO’s heavily promoted series The Last of Us , a dystopian thriller based on a video game. The 19-year-old Ramsey is opening up during the promotional attention in advance of the series debut. “I guess my gender has always been very fluid,” she said in a recent interview with The New York Times . “Someone would call me ‘she’ or ‘her’ and I wouldn’t think about it. But I knew that if someone called me ‘he,’ it was a bit exciting,” she said. HBO has released the first image of Oscar winner Kate Winslet in The Palace (wt) its upcoming limited series from Succession duo Will Tracy and Frank Rich and The Queen director Stephen Frears . Production is currently underway in Austria and will continue in the United Kingdom. Character descriptions are being under wraps, but you can see the image below. The Palace tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel. Hector Ramirez , a cameraman known for live events and music and comedy specials who racked up 20 Emmys and scores of other nominations in a career spanning 44 years and 200-plus credits, has died. He was 78.
