A spokesperson for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the governor’s office is asking New York Attorney General Letitia James and the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of New York to appoint an independent investigator to conduct a review of accusations of sexual harassment by the governor. “The Governor’s Office wants a review of the sexual harassment claims made against the Governor to be done in a manner beyond reproach. We had selected former Federal Judge Barbara Jones, with a stellar record for qualifications and integrity, but we want to avoid even the perception of a lack of independence or inference of politics,” Beth Garvey, special counsel and senior advisor to Cuomo, said in a statement Sunday, according to CNN . Dylan Farrow tweeted out a long plea today for understanding and empathy in the hours before tonight’s HBO docuseries Allen V. Farrow airs unseen footage of her. In the episode, a long-suppressed home video shows 7-year-old Dylan talking days after an alleged incident involving her father, Woody Allen , occurred. The timestamp indicates the date of Aug. 5, 1992. “We went into your room and we went into the attic,” says the girl, who is busy cutting paper with a pair of scissors. “Then he started telling me weird things. Then secretly he went into the attic….went behind me and touched my privates.” Woody Allen has vigorously denied the allegations for decades, and has called the docuseries “a hatchet job” in his own replies on it. Warner Animation Group said today that Allison Abbate and Chris Leahy will take the roles of senior-level creative executives at the animated film production arm of Warner Bros Pictures. Abbate has been named EVP, while Leahy has been named SVP. Toby Emmerich, President and Chief Content Officer, Warner Bros. Pictures, who shares oversight of Warner Animation Group with Courtenay Valenti, President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Pictures, said of the announcement: “Allison and Chris are well known and well respected in the animation community and will be key to expanding our operations at Warner Animation Group.
