Kimora Lee Simmons Tries to Fight Traffic Ticket While Pleasing a Fan

· April 3, 2021 ·

Play video content Exclusive TMZ.com Kimora Lee Simmons is pissed about getting pulled over and ticketed in Bev Hills -- but thanks to a slightly impatient fan, she still managed to bat .500 on the day. We got Kimora Wednesday afternoon as a BHPD officer was writing her up. She told us the cop wasn't being nice -- though we saw no evidence of that -- and made it clear she was upset about getting dinged for no plates on her Rolls Royce. Watch the clip ... she had an excuse, one the cop clearly wasn't buying. She even tried playing the sympathy card -- mentioning she's recovering from a broken leg -- but no dice. However, in a true Hollywood moment, a fan happened to walk by and refused to let the selfie opportunity go. We'll say this ... Kimora handled it like a pro. Gallery Launch Gallery Getty In the end, she was still annoyed, but admitted getting the ticket was better than ... well, watch. Kimora made a police brutality … [Read more...] about Kimora Lee Simmons Tries to Fight Traffic Ticket While Pleasing a Fan

AMC Renews ‘The Walking Dead’, Glen Mazzara Steps Down As Showrunner

· December 21, 2012 ·

Another high-level showrunner departure for an AMC series. AMC just announced that it has renewed flagship drama The Walking Dead for a fourth season. But Glen Mazzara , who had served as showrunner following the abrupt departure of creator/original showrunner Frank Darabont early into the second season, is leaving. Speculations about Mazzara’s future on the show started when AMC didn’t follow its regular routine of giving The Walking Dead an early pickup despite the record-breaking ratings performanc e of the show’s recent fall portion of Season 3. There had been rumors that Mazzara was not happy on the show and may follow the slew of other showrunners who have departed AMC series – The Walking Dead ‘s Frank Darabont, whom Mazzara succeeded, Rubicon creator/exec producer Jason Horwitch, who exited during production on its first and only season, and most recently Hell On Wheels showrunner John Shiban, who left after two seasons . (Additionally, the deals … [Read more...] about AMC Renews ‘The Walking Dead’, Glen Mazzara Steps Down As Showrunner

‘WALKING DEAD’ SHOCKER: Frank Darabont Steps Down As Showrunner

· July 26, 2011 ·

EXCLUSIVE: This is a quite a bombshell — I have learned that Frank Darabont, the creator, executive producer and director of AMC ’s smash hit The Walking Dead , is stepping down as showrunner of the series, which is now in production on its upcoming second season. The news is even more surprising given the fact that Darabont was on hand for Walking Dead’ s Comic-Con panel just this past Friday alongside fellow executive producers Robert Kirkman, on whose graphic novel the series is based, and Gale Anne Hurd and appeared excited about Season 2. There is speculation that Darabont might be off the show completely, but I hear talks are still ongoing about him possibly staying on in some capacity. Darabont, who spent five years trying to get a TV version of the zombie saga off the ground and wrote and directed the AMC pilot, hails from the feature world, and I hear that he never quite adjusted to the daily grind of producing a TV series. Last December, he considered forgoing a … [Read more...] about ‘WALKING DEAD’ SHOCKER: Frank Darabont Steps Down As Showrunner

EMMYS: ‘Walking Dead’s Frank Darabont

· June 23, 2011 ·

Frank Darabont spent five fruitless years of pitching an idea for a zombie television series. But he’s back on Hollywood’s A-list after The Walking Dead , which he created from Robert Kirkman’s original comic book, generated higher ratings in its first season than any of AMC’s previous original shows. Now Darabont has two Hollywood Guild award nominations to go with his three Oscar nods for writing and directing The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile . He talks about his longtime love affair with the undead with Deadline TV Contributor Ray Richmond : DEADLINE: Are you such a fan of zombies because you work in Hollywood? FRANK DARABONT: Yes, there are plenty of zombies working in the industry. But I’ve always wanted to tackle the zombie mythos since I was a kid and saw Night of the Living Dead — the original black-and-white version — at a midnight screening. It was just a niche thing then. But I think in the past five years it’s become far more widely embraced. … [Read more...] about EMMYS: ‘Walking Dead’s Frank Darabont

2011 Comic-Con: ‘The Walking Dead’ Unveils Season 2 Premiere Date, New Trailer, More

· July 22, 2011 ·

Deadline Comic-Con TV correspondent Gary Hodges filed his report: UPDATED: The Walking Dead ( AMC ) enjoys an overlap of fans at Comic-Con, both fans of the series and the graphic novel it’s based on. The panel held off bringing out the cast at first, instead introducing writer/director/producer Frank Darabont, makeup artist Greg Nicotero, and executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Robert Kirkman (who’s also the writer of the comic book series). Hurd was the first to make news, announcing that the season premiere of season 2 would air Sunday, October 16 th at its new time, 9pm. A trailer was next (video below), which did a good job of creating a feeling of dread but with too many fast cuts to discern anything specific about future episodes. (People fleeing zombies, shooting at zombies, hiding from zombies. And so on.) It closes with spoken dialogue: “I guess I’m losing hope. But like I said, it’s all about slim chances now. And a slim chance is better than none.” With … [Read more...] about 2011 Comic-Con: ‘The Walking Dead’ Unveils Season 2 Premiere Date, New Trailer, More
