It is hardly the first trip to the Madison Avenue ring for the wrestling circuit. But compared with 2019, the last time the upfronts were held in person, the WWE will be point to even more evidence of its stature as a sponsor magnet engineered for the streaming era. NBC Sports said Thursday that Maria Taylor will be the new host of Football Night in America , NBC’s weekly studio show that leads into the network’s Sunday Night Football . Taylor, who joined NBC from ESPN less than a year ago, had been a co-host of the Sunday primetime program alongside Mike Tirico, who is joining the SNF booth this upcoming season alongside Cris Collinsworth. He replaces Al Michaels, who exited after the end of this past season and is moving to Amazon to call its nascent slate of Thursday night NFL games alongside Kirk Herbstreit. In addition to the FNA role, Taylor executive producing an eight-part documentary series on the history of the Black quarterback in the NFL. It eventually will stream on Peacock. Orange County Sheriff's Office Earl Thomas was arrested Friday night in Texas after he was spotted at a bar ... just days after a judge issued a warrant for the former NFL star after the DB was accused of violating a protective order on multiple occasions, TMZ Sports has learned. We're told the 33-year-old 7x Pro Bowler was taken into custody around 8:30 PM in Orange County, TX by Orange County PD after the agency received a phone call from a bar patron who spotted Thomas in the establishment. Officers responded, and Thomas was cuffed and taken to the Orange County Jail ... where he currently remains. Bond has not yet been set, according to online records. Thieriot also is one of the stars of CBS Studios’ former CBS drama series SEAL Team which now streams on Paramount+. When Thieriot closed a deal to headline the Fire Country pilot (fka Cal Fire ) in February, Paramount+ had just renewed SEAL Team f or Season 6 . At the time, Thieriot was the only main cast member who did not have a modified-for-streaming Season 6 deal, and his existing option had not been picked up by CBS Studios yet as everyone was waiting to see what happened with Fire Country , a passion project for Thieriot. I hear that since then, Thieriot has closed a deal for Season 6 of SEAL Team , which is slated to begin production soon.
