Like most weeks for Pharrell Williams , this one is packed. On Thursday, he and Neptunes co-producer Chad Hugo will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. This weekend, he’ll host the latest edition of his Something in the Water Festival. And then there’s his most philanthropic latest venture, announced today: helping underprivileged kids avoid low-paying jobs. On the day season three of Abi Morgan ’s drama series The Split launches in the U.S. on BBC America, producer Sister has snapped up rights to the screenwriter’s autobiographical book This is Not a Pity Memoir . Morgan will not only adapt her memoir for TV, but will also direct and executive produce the project, along with Sister co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jane Featherstone. Sister and Morgan have already collaborated on three seasons of The Split , which was originally for the BBC, and this latest agreement strengthens their ties. Reporting to department heads Kate Sanagan and Marilyn Kynaston, Rubin will be responsible for the company’s sales efforts throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. She joins with 15 years of experience, including most recently as Film Sales Manager with Toei Animation. She had earlier stints with Gulli and Fremantle in France. Longtime friends and collaborators Antonio Banderas and Andrew Lloyd Webber are joining forces under the banner of new company Amigos Para Siempre (APS), aimed at producing theatre, musicals and live entertainment shows, including some of Webber’s best-loved works, for major Spanish-speaking markets. Under the initiative, Spanish-language rights to Webber’s shows will be ceded to the new company by the UK composer’s London-based company Really Useful Group. Shows earmarked for Spanish adaptations include The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cinderella, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and School of Rock. Under fire actor Kevin Spacey ’s life and upcoming legal cases are to be the subject of a two-part doc series from British broadcaster Channel 4 . British broadcaster Channel 4 has ordered a two-part doc series that promises to take a “forensic” look at actor Kevin Spacey. Spacey Unmasked (working title) will look at Spacey’s life, from his emergence on Broadway and meteoric rise to stardom through to his fall from grace amidst multiple allegations of grooming, sexual harassment and abuse. It will also follow the outcomes of two upcoming cases: a civil case brought by Spacey’s first public accuser, Anthony Rapp, which will be heard in New York in October; and the criminal case in the UK, where Spacey stands accused of several crimes. Comedy legend Carol Burnett is set to guest star on the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul . She’ll portray a character named Marion, but the storyline has not been revealed. The final episodes will conclude the complicated journey and transformation of its compromised hero, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. “I’m thrilled to be a part of my favorite show,” said Burnett.
