Justin Bieber fans in Buenos Aires booed the singer Sunday night when he ended his performance after being onstage for less than an hour, according to The Associated Press . He blamed food poisoning for having to leave early; it’s the second time he’s done so on his South American trek, following an early departure in Brazil when someone threw a plastic bottle at him. “I’m not feeling too good,” he told his Argentinian concertgoers, some of whom reportedly paid up to $320 for tickets. “I think I’m out of energy.” The Evolution of Justin Bieber Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, released a statement to AP Monday that said the singer’s food poisoning was so bad that he spent eight hours on an IV drip prior to the show. Doctors reportedly suggested Bieber cancel the gig. Instead, he waited to go onstage until 10 p.m., an hour and a half later than planned. Earlier in the day, the singer had Instagrammed himself receiving intravenous fluids with the caption “food poisoning is … [Read more...] about Justin Bieber Booed in Argentina

Justin Bieber’s Neighbor Claims Singer Made Threats
An argument between Justin Bieber and one of his neighbors resulted in a visit from sheriff’s deputies in Calabasas, California, yesterday morning when the neighbor claimed that Bieber had attacked and threatened him. No one was arrested, though Reuters reports that a police report alleging battery and threats has been filed and is under investigation. The alleged confrontation began after Bieber flew home from a performance in Poland. A neighbor who came by to complain about parties at the pop star’s house while he was away exchanged words with Bieber, but no physical altercation took place, a source close to the singer told Reuters. Under California law, a misdemeanor battery charge can included any unwanted physical contact, including spitting. Justin Bieber: Don’t Compare Me to Lindsey Lohan “There have been allegations made against Mr. Bieber of battery and making threats,” Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, told The … [Read more...] about Justin Bieber’s Neighbor Claims Singer Made Threats
Justin Bieber to Perform ‘Journals’ LP for TikTok Valentine’s Day Gig
Justin Bieber will perform his 2013 collection Journals for the first time as part of TikTok ’s Valentine’s Day programming. The concert, streamed “live from Drew House,” will take over Bieber’s TikTok account on February 14th at 6 p.m, PST. The performance will mark the first-ever long-form concert event in the history of TikTok, which this weekend sponsored Miley Cyrus’ pre-Super Bowl tailgate gig. “I’m excited to bring this show to life. Review: David Guetta Splits the Difference Between Trendy and Bold on ‘7’
Seven years ago, the kids couldn’t get enough of arena-ready electronic dance music. Scan the Hot 100 today, and the subgenre looks like an endangered species. So producers who once waltzed to the top of the charts have been forced to drastically change their approach. Some have been trendy: The Scottish titan Calvin Harris made an album composed entirely of rap and R&B, bowing to the genres that own the streaming-verse. Others have been bold: Skrillex re-made himself as behind-the-scenes Top 40 player with unexpected melodic sensitivity (see Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”), finding other ways to sneak his music into arenas. French DJ-producer David Guetta hopes to be both trendy and bold with his new double album 7 . The first part is business as usual, stuffed to bursting with the type of cross-genre collaborations that made Guetta a global star. Afro-house is now an international dancefloor presence, so South African producer Black Coffee shows up on “Drive.” … [Read more...] about Review: David Guetta Splits the Difference Between Trendy and Bold on ‘7’
Why 24kGoldn Sees Himself as the Music Industry’s Steve Jobs
The Zoom interview has just begun when 24kGoldn , more or less unprompted, calls himself “the Steve Jobs of the music industry right now.” It’s the kind of braggadocious claim that only a 20-year-old with one of the biggest songs of the past year can say without a hint of irony. But the fast-rising, genre-blending rapper has good reason to feel so confident. Goldn, whose real name is Golden Landis Von Jones, is the most successful artist to develop a musical career on TikTok since Lil Nas X, and one of the few to have made viral hits from the app more than once. He wasn’t discovered on TikTok, he notes — his label, RECORDS , signed him in 2019 — but it’s been his de facto platform. He’s released three RIAA-certified singles that shot to fame there, including his chart-topping hit “Mood” featuring Iann Dior, which became one of the biggest hits of 2020, spending the past 28 weeks on Rolling Stone’s 100 Songs Chart, hitting Number One in two non-consecutive weeks. … [Read more...] about Why 24kGoldn Sees Himself as the Music Industry’s Steve Jobs
