Former President Donald Trump said that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday as part of the Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation, while he also called on his supporters to protest the move. Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social media platform, that “illegal leaks” from the D.A. showed that he would be arrested. “Protest, take our nation back!” he wrote in all caps. He did not specify what he has been told about an indictment and potential charges. A campaign spokesperson said in a statement that there had been “no notification” given to Trump other than “illegal leaks” by prosecutors to news outlets. The former President showed up at the BOK Center in Tulsa for the NCAA Wrestling Tournament -- hours after he announced that he would be arrested Tuesday by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg over the Stormy Daniels hush-money case. AP Videos showed Trump smiling and waving at the crowd as he walked through the stadium with his entourage. Trump also shook hands with fans and took group photos with them. Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker reportedly testified again before the Manhattan grand jury investigating Donald J. Trump and an alleged hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. According to a report this afternoon in The New York Times, Pecker made a return visit to the grand jury today after previously testifying in January. The report comes less than two weeks after former president Trump predicted he’d be arrested in connection to the investigation. Although the nature of his testimony today was unclear, Pecker was at the center of the so-called “catch and kill” practice in which the Enquirer would attain exclusive rights to stories potentially damaging to Trump and his 2016 presidential campaign, and then decline to publish those stories.
