Machine Gun Kelly Gives a Bloody After Party Performance After Smashing a Glass Against His Own Face
Machine Gun Kelly marked his sold-out show at Madison Square Garden by marking up his face at the after party. The musician gleefully shared footage of the bloody incident on his Instagram Stories . In the first clip, he stood on a table in a restaurant and proclaimed to a gathered crowd, “Bro, I don’t give a shit—“ before smashing a champagne glass on his forehead (the clip was aptly captioned, “and this is when things turned…”). In the next video, MGK performed part of his Tickets to My Downfall song, “My Ex’s Best Friend” as blood poured down his face and he held a bloody rag in his hand. MGK, of course, is known for indulging in a little Jackass- ery himself, even making a cameo in the stunt-comedy troupe’s latest film Jackass Forever . That said, we hope his champagne smashing doesn’t leave a scar he feels obligated to cover up — we gather he doesn’t exactly like rock musicians who wear masks . Machine Gun Kelly’s summer tour will continue later this week, … [Read more...] about Machine Gun Kelly Gives a Bloody After Party Performance After Smashing a Glass Against His Own Face
Woody Allen Plans To Make “One Or Two More” Films, But “The Thrill Is Gone” Due To Decline Of Movie Theaters
In a conversation with Alec Baldwin livestreamed on Instagram, Woody Allen said he plans to direct “one or two more” films, but also said “the thrill is gone” because of the decline of the theatrical experience. Without revealing details about the project, Allen said he will direct a film that will shoot in Paris in the late-summer or early fall. His last film was Rifkin’s Festival , which grossed just $2.3 million, reaching the U.S. in a limited release earlier this year but making little impact. MPI Media Group handled that film, stepping in for Amazon Studios, which yanked its $80 million distribution deal with Allen in 2019. The filmmaker has seen his career options narrow in recent years amid increased scrutiny around allegations of sexual abuse. Book publisher Hachette also canceled publication of his memoir in 2020. Even before Covid, Allen said, the challenging environment for traditional theatrical releases was starting to weigh on him. “When I started, … [Read more...] about Woody Allen Plans To Make “One Or Two More” Films, But “The Thrill Is Gone” Due To Decline Of Movie Theaters

Landmark BFI UK Skills Review Calls For $127M Investment & 21,000 Extra Crew By 2025; Urges 1% Of Production Budgets Used For Training
An additional £104M ($127M) and 20,000 full-time jobs will need to be injected into the UK’s film and high-end TV (HETV) sectors over the next three years for the industry to keep up with demand for projects, according to the BFI . The body published its long-awaited skills review today, with the key recommendation being that at least 1% of all production budgets are invested in training in order to mitigate the growing skills crisis. The review, which has had buy-in from major stakeholders in the HETV and film sectors, said £104M will need to be spent and 20,770 more full-time posts created to meet demand by 2025, with production spend having rocketed over the past four years to £5.6BN ($6.8B). A similar report last week from UK training body ScreenSkills , which predicted film and HETV could hit £7.7B ($9.4B) by 2025, forecast roughly the same number of jobs required but a colossal £300M ($368M) investment needed. Projects have been rushing back into production … [Read more...] about Landmark BFI UK Skills Review Calls For $127M Investment & 21,000 Extra Crew By 2025; Urges 1% Of Production Budgets Used For Training
It’s Quinta Brunson’s World and We’re All Just Laughing in It
Quinta Brunson — creator, executive producer, and star of the hit comedy Abbott Elementary — could moonlight as a tour guide. She meets me at the Warner Bros. Television building on a crisp day in April. The building, tucked behind bushes and an open-air set of a quaint city street, is boxy and drab, one of the least magnificent structures I see on the massive lot. And yet Brunson has a way of showing its hidden magic. Flanked by a publicist and a studio rep, we load into a golf cart, where Brunson leads me on a tour of the WB campus — it also just happens to be a tour of one of the most exciting young careers in comedy. In fact, while we chat in front of an outdoor set of a white church used in Gilmore Girls and Pretty Little Liars , an eager fan on a stretch cart packed with visitors on a guided tour loudly points her out. In 2018, she was cast as a lead in a CW series called The End of the World As We Know It after auditioning in this very building. The show never … [Read more...] about It’s Quinta Brunson’s World and We’re All Just Laughing in It
