Season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost has smashed viewership records for Starz . The premiere episode delivered 5.8M multi-platform viewers in its first three days after it debuted on March 17, which the network says is its biggest premiere weekend ever. That’s up quite significantly from the 362,000 viewers that tuned in to the episode’s initial live telecast. Weekend multi-platform viewership for the Season 3 debut was also up about 30% from the Season 2 premiere in November 2021. Interestingly, the Season 2 premiere drew 518,000 for its live broadcast, which was on a Sunday. Season 2 averaged a little over half a million live viewers per episode. Prior to the launch of Season 3, Starz signaled its confidence in the series with an early renewal for a fourth installment. Season 4 is currently in production in New York. EXCLUSIVE : Matt Reeves ’ 6th & Idaho is teaming with ZQ Entertainment to produce God’s Country — a new genre film starring Scream VI’ s Melissa Barrera , which will mark the American directorial debut of Egor Abramenko ( Sputnik ). The film going into production this summer will have Barrera playing a young Salvadoran woman who travels to Kentucky to meet her fiancé. What she uncovers is something sinister beyond comprehension, as her American dream curdles into a nightmare of biblical proportions. Will Soodik ( Westworld ) wrote the script. Droughtlander is nearly over as Starz has set the premiere date for Outlander ‘s seventh season for Friday, June 16, at midnight ET via streaming and internationally on the Lionsgate+ premium streaming platform in the UK. For linear viewers, the show premieres on the same day, at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S. New episodes will be released weekly Fridays. The extended 16-episode season will be split into two parts of eight episodes each, with the second half of the series inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s international bestsellers premiering in 2024. However, the franchise may continue on the network — The L Word: New York (working title), a reboot of the groundbreaking original series, is in development with the 2004 series’ creator Ilene Chaiken expected to be involved in some capacity, I hear. The L Word: Generation Q ‘s cancellation comes two months after the series’ third season ended its run. No Showtime series has been renewed since the January announcement that the premium cable network will be integrated into Paramount+ across both streaming and linear later this year and renamed as Paramount+ with Showtime.
