11 minutes ago Respawn Entertainment may be known for the Titanfall games, but the company has now revealed that it may become better known for its Star Wars titles. In fact, it was recently revealed during the EA Play event as part of the big E3 week that Respawn is working on a game called Jedi: Fallen Order. The reveal took place in an interview with Morgan Webb who managed to talk to Respawn Entertainment co-founder, Vince Zampella, during the EA Play event that was livestreamed over on the Electronic Arts YouTube channel. Zampella revealed during the event that Respawn Entertainment is currently focusing on Jedi: Fallen Order right now, and that the game is set between Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. The game is scheduled to come out for home consoles and PC starting next holiday season in 2019. Obviously there was no new footage to put on display, because it's still a year out from release. 1 minute ago A number of games have been made available as backwards compatible titles for the Xbox One from the OG Xbox era, including six Star Wars games that were huge fan-favorites during the sixth generation of gaming some 15 years ago. Over on the official Xbox website, there's a list of the games that are now available as backwards compatible titles from the OG Xbox era that can now run on the Xbox One, Xbox One S and the Xbox One X with 4K upscaling enhancements. The list includes underrated classics from Pandemic like Destroy All Humans!, and Full Spectrum Warrior, along with the original Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, which were all quite well received well over a decade ago. May the Fourth be with you. Disney's anticipated animated series Star Wars Rebels has unveiled its first full trailer on Star Wars Day. For those who can't wait until December's Star Wars: The Last Jedi to see TIE Bombers and Imperial Scout Walkers in action once again, here's some good news: Judging by recent trailers for Transformers: The Last Knight, they'll be on the big screen again this summer … in a galaxy much closer than usual, somehow. The two-legged gun robot that appears in the international trailer for Michael Bay's next (and supposedly final) Transformers movie (skip to the 0:22 mark) does have plausible deniability for potential Star Wars-esque origin, admittedly. With its relatively flat "head," it also closely resembles ED-209 from the Robocop franchise, so an argument could be made for it upholding a sci-fi movie tradition. However, the shot at 0:42 of a subsequent trailer is far less ambiguous. Those things flying in the sky? Those are very, very clearly "influenced" by the TIE Bombers from the original Star Wars trilogy. Indeed, with the exception of an additional fold on the wings, they … [Read more...] about Do ‘Transformers 5’ Trailers Include ‘Star Wars’ Easter Eggs?
Debating which is better, Star Wars or Star Trek, isn’t likely to be more productive than debating which is better, my religion or yours, because both sides have fans who are devoted to their favorite franchise and thus unable to see issues from the perspective of the other side. However, while Star Wars and Star Trek share a futuristic setting, there are differences between them that could be basis for objective assessment of their relative merits. It appears that the essential distinction between both franchises is their different perspectives of the possible social and political conditions of future societies. Star Trek adopts an idealistic and optimistic view that technological progress will be accompanied by moral and ethical advancement, and a drive towards social and political Utopian ideals. Star Wars suggests that technological progress will not by itself push social and political progress and that primitive conditions could co-exist with extreme levels of … [Read more...] about 20 Hilarious Memes That Prove Star Wars Is Better Than Star Trek
