Jennifer Coolidge is fresh from shooting Season 2 of The White Lotus and she’s on a high. Having made such an indelible mark in Season 1 of Mike White’s limited series set in a luxury Hawaiian resort, she’s the only main character returning for a second shot. For now, she’s having to keep plot details under wraps, but she’s positive that it will be another hit: “It would be impossible to not like it,” she says. Portuguese filmmaker Carlos Conceição’s Angolan War of Independence drama Tommy Guns has won the Europa Cinemas Label as Best European film at the 75th Locarno Film Festival , running August 3 to 13. The feature explores the war through the eyes of two youngsters – a local girl and a Portuguese soldier – who are caught up in the conflict. Bollywood legend Aamir Khan is set to debut his version of the hit film Forrest Gump , with some differences specially designed for Indian audiences. Khan told the BBC that Forrest’s line, “Life is like a box of chocolates,” has become, “Life is like a golgappa; your stomach feels full, but your heart always craves for more.” Khan explained, “Golgappa is like a street food that we have win Indian and it’s very popular for being the kind of food that if you eat one, you don’t feel like stopping. With abusive language and scenes that test your patience, Rajjo is one of the most badly made films in recent times! Was Kangna Ranaut desperate for work or was she offered heaps of money...? Not sure what tempted this talented actress to take up a film such as Rajjo ! Whether it be dialogues, acting or screenplay - Rajjo unfortunately has nothing new to offer. Agreed that the script is not novel, but that certainly cannot be an excuse! The plot definitely had scope for innovation, but Vishwas Patil chose to follow the most tried and tested path.
