New York Emmy Nominations: News 12 Dominates Field; Telemundo & Univision Outlets Top All Others
News 12 dominated with 80 nominations for the 65th annual New York Emmy Awards nominations, which were revealed today. The NY chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said Telemundo’s WNJU squeezed past Univision’s WXTY for second place, 53 noms to 52. Spectrum News NY1 and MSG Networks tied for fourth place with 45 nominations apiece, just ahead of WNBC News’ 44. The winners will be honored at a ceremony in October, with a date and venue TBA. The gala will be livestreamed on the New York Emmys website. Association Of Talent Agents Sets Date For Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Session
The Association of Talent Agents , representing more than 100 talent agencies, will hold a training session for members March 20 to review best practices for the prevention of sex harassment and discrimination. “The session will explain what constitutes unlawful sexual harassment, obligations under the law, including the California Talent Agencies Act and best practice policies,” the ATA told its members. “Our expert presenters/panelists will walk us through real-life examples and explore common mistakes. ATA’s blended training and educational session is meant to complement, not replace, your company’s policies and programs. Nearly every day at 6:30 a.m. a small group of mostly men, and a smaller amount of women, stood on the sidewalk in front of my local abortion clinic grasping rosaries, chanting the Lord’s prayer, and jumping in front of cars with pamphlets about why all pregnancies should result in births. Sometimes they brought their children and infants, even in the blistering 105 degree Texas summer heat. As self-identified “sidewalk counselors,” the group aims to persuade people not to terminate their pregnancies. Many came with small, tissue-papered baby shower gift bags as a way of demonstrating that help was on the sidewalk and not indoors. Nothing was further from the truth. I spent time in several North Texas abortion clinics from 2005 until the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v.
