James Cameron , who regains certain rights to his prized creation The Terminator in 2019, is godfathering a new iteration of the film that might finally get it right in drawing a close in the battle between humans and Skynet. Sources said that Cameron, whose copyright reversion happens 35 years after the release of the 1984 classic, is in early talks with Deadpool director and VFX wiz Tim Miller to direct a reboot and conclusion of one of cinema’s great science fiction tales. David Ellison , whose Skydance co-financed Terminator Genisys, is bankrolling an exploratory effort that includes engaging some top-flight science fiction authors to find the movie creatively. Outfest Unveils Lineup For Second Annual Queer Television Festival, The OutFronts
Outfest today unveiled the lineup for its second annual LGBTQIA+ television festival, The OutFronts —a four-day hybrid event with internationally accessible virtual panel discussions and ticketed in-person events in Los Angeles, featuring the talent from some of the most exciting LGBTQIA+ programs available on television today. The festival will run from June 3-6, kicking off with the world premiere in-person screening of Peacock’s Queer As Folk at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, which will be followed by a conversation with the reimagining’s creators and cast. EXCLUSIVE : Brad Anderson , the multi-hyphenate behind the iconic Christian Bale thriller The Machinist , has signed with Paradigm for representation. Anderson is a writer, director and producer whose 2004 breakout feature told the story of industrial worker Trevor Reznik (Bale), who began to doubt his own sanity after going without sleep for a year. He recently directed an episode of HBO Max’s acclaimed DC series Peacemaker , and two installments (including the pilot) of Netflix’s chart-topping thriller Clickbait , most recently wrapping production on the horror-thriller Blood , starring Michelle Monaghan and Skeet Ulrich.
