ID and Discovery+ have unveiled their true crime slate for the 2022-23 upfront season, with four new TV series, including reboots of the classic podcasts Disappeared and Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?, six new specials, including the Armie Hammer-focused House of Hammer (wt),  nine returning series, two new podcasts, Hot and Deadly and Deadliest Decade, and a new season of Mind of a Monster podcast which launches in July. The downfall of actor Armie Hammer — as well as that of the Hammer family — will be the focus of an upcoming special coming to Discovery+ . The tentatively titled House of Hammer will examine the “ deeply troubling accusations leveled against Oscar-nominated actor and the Hammer family’s dark, twisted legacy,” a five-generation dynasty that exhibited “all the devastating consequences of privilege gone wild,” Variety reports . The special, announced Wednesday as part of Discovery+ and the ID channel’s upcoming slate of true-crime programming, will also feature interviews with unspecified Hammer family members and the actor’s alleged victims. In March 2021, a woman under the alias “Effie” accused the actor of “violently” raping and assaulting her. CNN has ordered a documentary about the rise and fall of mobile game show HQ Trivia and has moved Eva Longoria : Searching for Mexico from its fallen streaming service CNN+ to its linear network. The news was revealed by Chris Licht, chairman and chief executive officer of CNN Worldwide, at the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront in New York. The untitled documentary about the app is directed by Salima Koroma (Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street) and produced by The Circus producer Left/Right. It will tell the story fo the rocket-like rise and sudden implosion of the once-ubiquitous mobile game show, which drew millions of daily users including celebrity fans including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kelly Clarkson.
