EXCLUSIVE : Nevision , the British producer behind shows including BBC drama Keeping Faith , has signed an exclusive development deal with writer Jeff Murphy to create high-end scripted projects for the global market. Murphy has written on Welsh series including Hinterland and Hidden , while his feature Denmark , starring Rafe Spall, was released in 2019. He will create his own ideas for Nevision, as well as helping develop the firm’s slate of feature films and series. EXCLUSIVE: Fear The Walking Dead co-creator Dave Erickson has closed an overall deal with MRC Television . Under the multi-year pact, Erickson will exclusively work with the indie studio on the creation and development of television series on which he will serve as writer-showrunner or supervise other writers. As part of the deal, Erickson is developing The Jaunt , based on the 1981 Stephen King short story originally published in The Twilight Zone Magazine. Fox Corp. streaming service Tubi is expanding its animation offerings via a licensing agreement with Japan’s Toei Animation. The pact, spanning seven TV series, 500 episodes and six specials, will bring six installments of the globally popular anime franchise One Piece to Tubi’s free, ad-supported platform. All installments and episodes on Tubi are available with English or Spanish subtitles. The franchise already streams in the U.S. on subscription streaming outlets Hulu, Netflix and Crunchyroll. The installments coming to Tubi include 3D2Y, Episode of Sabo, Adventure of Nebulandia, Heart of Gold, Episode of East Blue and Episode of Skypiea. Other anime series included in the deal are Toriko, Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho, Saint Seiya: Hades, Ge-Ge-Ge No Kitaro, Slam Dunk , and Dr. Slump . An expansive deal Comedy Central has inked with series creator Mike Judge and 3 Arts Entertainment calls for a reimagined version of MTV’s seminal, Gen X-defining adult animated sitcom Beavis and Butt-Head , which has received a two-season order, as well as additional spinoffs and specials. Under the pact, Judge will write, produce and provide voice-over for both famous characters in the revival with meta-themes relatable to both new and old fans – Gen X parents and their Gen Z kids.
