Leave the lights on tonight. The trailer and poster for 20th Century Studios’ and 21 Laps’ horror-thriller The Boogeyman has arrived. A portion of the trailer just debuted on Fox’s live broadcast of the NFC championship game, but is available now in its entirety. The Boogeyman opens nationwide June 2, exclusively in theaters. The Boogeyman tells the story of high school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister, Sawyer, who are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims. Angus MacLachlan wrote 2005’s terrific indie Junebug, which put Amy Adams on the big-time map and earned her a Supporting Actress Oscar nomination in a heartbreaking performance. It also put MacLachlan on the map with his first screenplay, and it was an auspicious start. Since then he has added directing to his credits including Goodbye to All and Abundant Acreage Available but tonight returned to the Sundance Film Festival with his latest, A Little Prayer , shot and set in his hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. Perhaps the kind of small indie that defines the term “Sundance movie,” A Little Prayer is largely a showcase for an exceptionally talented cast who make up the troubled family in this tale. It drifts into some soapy territory before it is over but is rescued by some fine acting, even if at times it feels more like a TV production than a gritty independent film, perhaps because the cinematography looks like video more often than not. UPDATE: Opera singer Plácido Domingo was hospitalized in Mexico on Saturday after complications related to the coronavirus . In a statement given to media, a spokesperson for Domingo said that he is in stable condition. He will remain in the hospital “as long as the doctors find it necessary until a hoped-for full recovery.” Last week, Domingo posted on Facebook that he tested positive for COVID-19. PREVIOUS: Placido Domingo says he has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. The 79-year-old revealed his condition in a Facebook post today. The Three Tenors star said he felt it was his “moral duty” to share his diagnosis. Onyx Collective has landed a pair of documentaries including Questlove ’s upcoming Sly Stone film. The brand, which airs on Hulu, will air both Questlove’s Untitled Sly Stone documentary and Anthem , which follows composer Kris Bowers and music producer Dahi as they take on a musical journey across the U.S. experimenting to reimagine the National Anthem. Separately, the brand has struck an overall deal with Joseph Patel, who produced Oscar-winning doc Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised alongside Questlove. Reuters UPDATE 7:20 AM PT -- The Colorado Springs Police Department identified the suspect as 22-year-old male Anderson Lee Aldrich . UPDATE Chief Adrian Vasquez says initial evidence shows the suspect entered Club Q and immediately began shooting. At least two brave individuals inside confronted the suspect and fought him in order to prevent further killings. UPDATE Law enforcement says the suspect used a long rifle during the shooting, and two firearms were recovered on the scene. Investigators are working to determine a motive for the attack.
