The celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company at Disneyland begins today with the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a new feature that marks the first time the beloved mice have starred in a ride-through attraction at the Anaheim resort. The attraction is located in Disneyland’s Mickey’s Toontown, which will reopen March 8 following its year-long closure on March 9, 2022, for the land’s makeover. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway combines sets, audio-animatronics figures, animated media and projection-mapping techniques, all synchronized with trackless vehicles and a musical score calling back to Disney Television Animation’s Emmy Award-winning “ Mickey Mouse ” cartoon shorts. WGA Writers Look Back At 2007-08 Strike For Lessons To Apply To Looming Negotiations: “They Call It Fog Of War For A Reason”
The WGA is gearing up for upcoming contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, arguably its most important in over a decade. This has prompted a group of top writers to look back at the lessons learned from the 2007-08 writers’ strike to see what can be applied to this year’s talks. The actress -- who recently starred in Disney's 'Disenchanted' -- was out skiing Sunday with her husband, Darren Le Gallo , and their daughter Aviana . They hit up the Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, CA ... about a two-hour drive Northeast of central Los Angeles. TMZ.com Amy probably would've gone unrecognized if she'd kept her goggles on -- with the low-key outfit she was wearing, she pretty much looked like any other female skier on the mountain. Ava DuVernay ’s feature adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson’s Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents has just added Niecy Nash -Betts, Jon Bernthal , Vera Farmiga , Nick Offerman , Jasmine Cephas Jones and Connie Nielsen to the movie, which is shooting in Georgia. The group joins King Richard Oscar nominee Aunjanue Ellis , who has the lead role. DuVernay is writing and directing, and producing alongside veteran collaborator Paul Garnes.
