At the Season Two premiere for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, Selena Gomez called on men in Hollywood to use their platform to speak out about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. “It’s about voting,” Gomez told Variety on the red carpet. “It’s about getting men — men needing to stand up and also speak against this issue.” She was joined for the interview by her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, though the question of Hollywood’s role in fighting to protect abortion access was fielded directly to her. “It’s also the amount of women that are hurting,” Gomez added. “I’m just not happy and I hope that we can do everything in our power to do something to change that.” The Supreme Court on Friday ruled 6-3 that states can restrict or outright ban abortion at any point during a pregnancy, overturning the landmark 1973 decision that enshrined abortion protections in federal law, along with a subsequent decision that affirmed those protections in … [Read more...] about Selena Gomez Calls on Men in Hollywood to ‘Stand Up’ Following Roe v. Judge to Omarosa’s Mom — Nut Up!! Claudia Jordan’s No Threat to You
Omarosa 's mom got shut down in court -- a judge slammed the door on her attempt to get a restraining order against ex-" Celebrity Apprentice " star Claudia Jordan ... for now. Theresa Manigault filed her request for the restraining order last week ... just a few days after she and Claudia got into the most ridiculous, and childish fight ever on the BET Awards red carpet. TMZ broke the story ... Claudia claimed Omarosa's 65-year-old mother punched her in the arm -- while Omarosa claimed Claudia's the one who shoved her mom. In her court filing, mama Manigault describes the incident this way: "She started to use profanity at me. As I was walking the carpet, she began to be physically aggressive" ... and used "her shoulder to try to knock me off balance." Mortal combat, right? Clearly, the judge didn't see any immediate threat because according to the documents ... Mom's request to keep Claudia 20 yards away was denied. Omarosa's mother will get a … [Read more...] about Judge to Omarosa’s Mom — Nut Up!! Claudia Jordan’s No Threat to You

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith Answers Your Twitter Questions
Although Red Hot Chili Peppers member Chad Smith and his doppelgänger Will Ferrell may have spent much of 2014 trying to prove how different they are from one another, with their hilarious competition on The Tonight Show , the drummer does have something in common with the actor: he’s very funny. As Rolling Stone read the drummer the questions fans sent in via Twitter, he cracked wise about everything from the Chili Peppers’ penchant for wearing socks on their private parts to how Ferrell “robbed” him of the Golden Cowbell during his drum-off with the actor this year. Over the past quarter century, Smith has played with the Chili Peppers, the supergroup Chickenfoot and various sessions with the likes of Kid Rock, the Dixie Chicks and Johnny Cash. And, with an eye toward helping other musicians, he has also spent time lobbying for music education in Washington, D.C. – including a recent trip to the White House – and building a drum community with his Chad Smith Drum … [Read more...] about Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith Answers Your Twitter Questions
Red Bull Racing Fires F2 Driver Juri Vips Over Video Game Stream Slur
Getty Juri Vips has just been fired by Red Bull Racing ... less than two weeks after the F2 driver was captured using a racial slur on a hot mic on a video game stream. RBR just made the announcement, saying after completing its investigation into the junior driver, it decided to terminate Vips' contract. "The team do not condone any form of racism," RBR said in their announcement Tuesday. Red Bull Racing initially launched its probe into Vips last week ... after the 21-year-old used the n-word while playing "Call of Duty" on a live stream. Vips did apologize following the incident ... saying in a statement on his social media page, "This language is entirely unacceptable and does not portray the values and principles that I hold. I deeply regret my actions and this is not the example I wish to set." The Estonian driver -- who won the 2017 ADAC Formula championship -- had been sitting 7th in the Formula 2 standings this season. … [Read more...] about Red Bull Racing Fires F2 Driver Juri Vips Over Video Game Stream Slur
Goldenboy Countup Sounds Like Red Foxx From the Trap on ‘Air Fryer’
Rap regions have been blurring their boundaries like never before in recent years. Goldenboy Countup , who hails from DeLand, just north of Orlando, Florida, sounds like a Michigan artist with a country drawl — a bit like Gucci Mane’s, but with more of a whisper. On “Air Fryer,” Goldenboy leans on the run-on sentences and dirtbag lyrics that have made Michigan one of the premier regions in all of hip-hop. Goldenboy is a bit more unconventional than his counterparts to the north; he’s also less into the basketball references Michigan rappers seem to love. More than anything, he’s hilarious, like Redd Foxx if he was from the trap. “Golden, what the fuck this lawyer for?/I’m a good liar” is so funny that it made me muffle my laughter under my shirt. The production has the dark and brooding pianos that seem fitting for Michigan, with its water crisis in Flint and Detroit’s history of woes. Lately, there is a joke making the rounds on Twitter about rap fans playing music for their … [Read more...] about Goldenboy Countup Sounds Like Red Foxx From the Trap on ‘Air Fryer’
Pilots Are Airlifting Patients Out of Red States to Get Abortions
The patient’s first two appointments were canceled. When Oklahoma’s governor signed the nation’s strictest abortion ban into law on May 26, her third was moved from a Planned Parenthood in Oklahoma City to the closest clinic with an appointment roughly a 10-hour round trip drive away, in Kansas. (The local chapter, Planned Parenthood Great Plains, covers four states — Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas — and books patients across all four.) “It was a goddamn mess,” says Alison Dreith, director of strategic partnerships at Midwest Access Coalition, a Chicago-based abortion fund. A companion managed to book a rental car and get the patient to Kansas, where she expected to have a medication abortion. “When she got to Kansas,” Dreith says, “She was too far along for them to do a medication abortion. They rescheduled her because they didn’t have appointments that day for a surgical… which pissed me the fuck off because you had this person come all the way from Oklahoma, and now … [Read more...] about Pilots Are Airlifting Patients Out of Red States to Get Abortions
Danger Mouse Preps New Record Label, Signs Autolux
Danger Mouse has announced his own Columbia Records imprint, 30th Century Records, which will feature artists personally signed by the songwriter-producer. Danger Mouse – best known for high-profile collaborations ( Gnarls Barkley , Broken Bells ) and production work (U2, the Black Keys, Beck) – will debut the label with his first signing, experimental rock trio Autolux , who are currently working on their follow-up to 2010’s Transit Transit . “In the dreamless world of the music industry, it’s rare to find a champion who wants to use the business to promote the art rather than the art to promote the business,” Autolux tells Rolling Stone . “When Brian heard our record, it was clear he understood what we are doing and where we want to go.” Danger Mouse is rumored to be producing two of the most two heavily anticipated new LPs from artists at opposite ends of the sonic spectrum: Red Hot Chili Peppers and Adele. In February, Chili Peppers bassist Flea tweeted – in a … [Read more...] about Danger Mouse Preps New Record Label, Signs Autolux

Front Row Acquires MENA Rights For Saudi Desert-Set Action Thriller ‘Route 10’
Middle East and North Africa distributor Front Row Filmed Entertainment has snapped up regional distribution rights for Saudi action picture Route 10, starring rising local talents Fatima AlBanawi and Baraa Alem. The company is planning a wide theatrical launch in Saudi Arabia on July 28 via Front Row Arabia, its joint venture with the territory’s biggest home-grown exhibitor Muvi Cinemas . The partners launched the label in early 2021 in response to the growing Saudi demand for feature film content for theatrical release in the wake of the territory’s lifting of its 35-year cinema ban at the end of 2017. Front Row will also release the title in other MENA territories at the same time. The film is among a growing body of Saudi feature productions to come to fruition over the last 12 months, as a local film industry begins to take root. The Saudi box office, which is tipped to top an annual $1B by 2030, has been dominated by Hollywood fare until now but … [Read more...] about Front Row Acquires MENA Rights For Saudi Desert-Set Action Thriller ‘Route 10’
